I've heard Boris referred to as the most hated man in the City, that's going some given he was so popular as Mayor. I want Boris to have it as he needs to deal with the fall out rather than swerving it

I am not a Conservative but would vote for Theresa May any day of the week over backstabbing Boris Johnson.

I really believe he deserves to lose this before it even starts for his shocking display in the referendum and his massive disrespect for the Prime Minister all through..

Personally I think all Gove has done is likely kill of Boris Johnson's chances here now.

Theresa May should be able to really capitalise on this now.
I never really saw Gove as a leader but he should be in whoever wins Cabinet.

Can we not delude ourselves into thinking May is this progressive, wonderful candidate just because she's a woman when only two months ago she said we should leave the European Convention on Human Rights, and her track record on immigration is quite frankly appalling.

I would vote for Stephen Crabb if I was a Conservative,I would rather May over Boris any time however.

She really disappointed me saying this morning though, she would not want an election until 2020, she cannot and should be able to remain unelected by the Country for the next 3 and more years, no way.
She should be forced if she wins to have an election within a year for the Country to decide what govt or make up of govt should be doing these negotiations on leaving the EU.

This was an all party campaign and it should really be an all party negotiating team that goes to the EU to negotiate at the very least.

Dezzy was right too he said he wouldn't stand.

What a deserved knockback for his ambitions,he would have done far better to have supported the PM David Cameron as to this referendum and then moved to take over when David Cameron left of his own choosing.

Sometimes in politics good things do happen and this for me is for sure one of them.
Really good this man is not going to be PM of the UK.

All his plotting, scheming and twisting and turning has come home to roost now, good riddance to him from me
If the new leader puts him in their Cabinet however,he or she better make sure to watch their backs.

Nah it's been fairly obvious since Thursday that Boris now does not want the job.

He was definitely going to run and was arranging meetings and tapping up supporters to that end until today, there's been a huge amount of activity in the last few days geared towards setting up Boris' leadership bid and Gove himself has been a part of that until today. Listen to a lot of the MPs who had already declared for Boris in the last couple of days and they're furious

No matter what way you spin it the whole thing is so ****ing embarrassing. Silly little people playing silly little games while real futures hang in the balance. Totally ridiculous.

If this entire referendum has shown anything, it's that NONE of them (in Britain, in Europe, across the board) have any idea what they're doing. They're all just muddling along. Terrifying.
