My mum made me go to the supermarket and I really fancied some garlic bread so picked some up.

Currently cooking half a baguette in the oven...

Do you like garlic bread?

Make it yourself Will - it's easy and far more scrumptious than ready made.

If you have Christmas German markets near you there'll be a stall selling garlic and cheese bread.

Get some. Best you'll ever have.

Simples Will:

Buy some ordinary baguettes - I buy plenty and freeze them.
4 cloves garlic, crushed or just use garlic powder if you haven't got fresh cloves.
1 ounce of butter (about 2 tablespoons)
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 baguettes split in two. (4 halves)
As much chopped fresh parsley as you like. (or dried parsley)

( If you want cheesy garlic bread, you will also need 3 tablespoons grated cheese)

Preheat your oven to 175 C or 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).Gas Mark 4.

Gently melt the butter in a small saucepan and mix in garlic and parsley.

Generously dip/cover the baguettes in the butter mix.

Place baguettes crust side down on a baking tray.

(add cheese sparingly to tops of baguettes at this stage Will if you want cheesy garlic bread)

Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes, until lightly toasted to your taste.

I am a garlic nut Will, so I also sprinkle a bit of garlic salt into the butter while I am melting it. Enjoy. :wavey:

Lazy man's quick delicious curry sauce coming next Will - simple to make and can even use Sunday dinner leftovers. :joker:

I prefer to use garlic powder rather than fresh garlic when making garlic bread. Less acrid and sharp. Mellow.

I actually really like the asda smart price garlic bread. Because it being crappy bread when you heat it it isn't crunchy its more so soggy and garlic buttery

If she's baguette style or cheesy then she's amazing. The flat plain garlic breads from supermarkets or takeaways need to be ABOLISHED.
