'Hollyoaks' opening sequence revamped [Archive] - ThisisBigBrother.com

Channel 4's Chester-based soap Hollyoaks is to unveil a new opening title sequence later this month - as most of the characters in the existing format are either dead or have left the show.

Designed by in-house graphic designer Simon Cox and composer Steve Wrightto, the new credits showcase the programme's sexy image and will be complemented by a re-worked theme tune with a 'contemporary twist', thanks to students at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.

Out of those involved at the institute, producers chose Mark Beaney's version of the well-known sting.

Of the re-worked credits, producer Bryan Kirkwood said: "I’m delighted with our new titles; they reflect the show perfectly and will appeal directly to our viewers.

"We’ve got the best-looking cast on TV and now our titles echo that – young, glamorous and sexy!"

The new titles will first air on Friday, February 23 on E4 at 7pm.

Woo i was hoping they would have a new opening sequence soon!

Finally, i'm loking forward to seeing the new titles, most of the people are gone on dead on the ones we have now, so time for new ones, i'm just hoping they kept the song well the theme.

Lmao :hugesmile: They really shouldn't include the characters in them. Cause in a few years time, they'll just be moaning that there out of date again. They should do what other soaps do like EE or CR and just show the settings or something.

They might get some getting used to. I suppose they reflect the Hollyoaks really is a Teen soap.

I liked them, and i love the new Theme tune.

What i love about them most is, Justin Bourton doesnt apper in them at all.
Mayve its a sign that Justin's time on Hollyoaks is coming to a close.

I thought it was very funky and fresh...they seem to be sexing up the characters maybe a little too much though in my opinion. Change is good though because seeing all the old characters didn't make sense. Can't quite remember the theme tune I was concentrating on the people too much.

There really isn't any place for him to go now. I think he has done all he can and had some great storylines...the only way he could stay in is if the baby ended up being his but I can't see that happening. Unless thats a story in itself and the baby might go into care with 2 parents dead...but that sounds a bit far fetched:thumbs:

I think he looks pretty small to be warren. Looking at it again I think it could even be OB from some angles but he is pictured earlier jumping on the bean bag thinghere (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3310699004669299087) is another clip of it.

Warren is showed early on in a red top so I think the break dancer is Justin. Plus I remember vaguely when "just the two of us" was on he was messing about break dancing when he should of been practicing singing.

Looking at who ISNT in it are all the oldies and Tom. Plus I dont think "Fletch" is in it unless I have missed him.

I don't think he would of fitted the funky new look...they say sex sells and that is what they have done really sexing it up. Putting Tom on it wouldn't fit the look imo.
