I was the ultimate Sonic fan growing up... I was obsessed with him. Obsessed. I even owned a Dreamcast and it did horrible in the US. One of my favorite games which I put way too many hours into was Phantasy Star Online. I owned Version 2 in Japanese before it was released in the US and thankfully I could read JP as it wasn't free to play there. Sonic Team I believe developed it.

I've long given up on Sega ever producing a decent homage though. Generations was
OK, but really they've tried so many times to "reboot" Sonic it ain't even funny. They just use nostalgia to hype it up time after time and always let his fans down :mad:

Fun Fact:

One of my favorite J-pop bands, Dreams Come True, has one of the composers from Sonic 1. The band did a vocal version of the Sonic 2 ending theme in English and Japanese

Involvement in the Sonic the Hedgehog series

Nakamura was picked by Sega to compose the music for the original Sonic the Hedgehog early in 1990. Later that year on 7 November, the game was revealed for the first time by being painted on the side of Dream Come True's tour bus. He was also in the middle of recording the band's fourth album, Million Kisses during Sonic the Hedgehog, and their fifth album, The Swinging Star during Sonic the Hedgehog 2.[2]

He was originally brought in to do the music again in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, but financial disagreements led Sega to dropping him and being forced to use their in-house musicians for the project.[citation needed] In 2006, he contributed a remixed version of the ending theme from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, "Sweet Sweet Sweet", for the 2006 game; Sonic the Hedgehog, and also allowed Sega to remix some of his music for the series in Sonic Generations in 2011.

I remember buying the dreamcast as a family christmas present back in the day and it had sonic and a taxi game with it. Hours of fun was spent on that machine- game changing back in the day! R.

That really would be fantastic as I've had hours of fun on those games.

I still want a Sonic game to live up to my childhood favourites Sonic Adventure 1 & 2.
