I've always thought it was a little bizarre how this forum censors swear words when the show it's centered around doesn't.

Don't see why people feel the need to actually see the swear words it's not as if it adds anything meaningful to a conversation, most people get the idea when the asterisks appear anyway.

Is it just me or has the filter got even worse lately? You can't even write **** or **** or ****ing or **** and have people understand what you mean because the asterisks block EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER. Not being dramatic but this is North Korea type censorship.

swearing is what young people do to try to be cool and fit in and what old people do when they have not got the vocabulary
ya bass
can we at least remove some of the random censors, like tiny chat and plu g d j
once i was posting a pic on someones wall and i couldn't because the most random 3 characters were censored :skull:

I don't mind the swear filter as much as I used to but I will say that it's a little inconsistent.
For example, 'slag', 'slut' and 'bitch' aren't filtered and yet a five letter word beginning with W that rhymes with 'bore' is

I think those who sign up and are over 18 should have the option to turn it off... think the filter is fine for the most part.

s.t.f.u being censored is kind of hilarious.

Yeah, also I cant say 'hit' with an s at the front, but I can say twat, pussy, and dickhead

This. Make it the default but give users the option to switch it off.
Like we do with images, sigs etc.

That's kind of hilarious though because like in films you're allowed to hear swearing at like 12-15 :skull:

And isn't the forums age limit 13 - so shouldn't it be allowed?
It's up to the mods at the end of the day - and I do agree it would cheapen the forum if used excessively but I don't think it would be used in a majority of posts.

NO it shouldn't be axed

It should be an option, with the default being set to no to not make the forum look cheap to newbies and guests.

It's a bit ridiculous but it's not as if people need to swear 24/7 anyway
Epic.

Did my signature get removed because it contained the word c-u-n-t?
I thought it would happen, surprised I didn't get a notification about it though.

You can always work your way around the filter though if you're that eager to call a housemate a stupid fat minge or something.
