View Full Version : Democratic Convention (Day 4)
Bernie Sanders due to speak tonight
Also Michelle Obama
Sanders supporters have already booed him for endorsing Clinton after the DNC rigged the primary in favour of Clinton.
What would be funny is if Bernie got on stage and endorsed Trump, he'd be the star of the convention.

this convention is a disaster....the majority want bernie who was forced out by mega corruption of wasserman schultz and the corporate lobbyists ....elizabeth warrens anti trump speech was a disgrace....she basically slandered him with hysterical drivel like hes never done anything to help anyone in his whole life and hes ripped everyone off etc these lobbyists and corporate lackeys are part of the self serving washington elite...the more they slander trump with lies the more it will backfire and the anti establishment vote will grow for this maverick outsiders...they really dont get it....its the exact same pattern as brexit, but the people have seen through their masks
Old wondering willy himself Bill Clinton is due to speak tonight.
I wonder how much he's getting paid to make a speech for his wife? at least half a million I'd say.
61 speakers last night, not 1 mention of Jihad, ISIS or Terrorism.
Hilary puts up a wall to keep the Bernie supporters out.

Yeah I like how well-spoken he is and he is fairly more presidential than the other two imo, but his ideas and what he wants to focus on are not practical in a time when we just need someone level headed who can work this cluster **** that is the US political system. We may not get that president for a while.
I'm writing in my presidential vote. Not sure if I will vote for Steven Hiller (Will Smith from "Independence Day") or Bent Walmart Gift Card.
If anyone is ever curious how we ended up in this spot, I recommend this article. I have a hard time believing any of the claims that are made by either convention
How American Politics Went Insane
It happened gradually—and until the U.S. figures out how to treat the problem, it will only get worse.
http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2016/07/how-american-politics-went-insane/485570/
It's not a hit piece or written by any meatheads. It is very informative and highlights some of the changes that were made under the hood to how politics used to work in the US.
I have a hard time believing any of the wild claims that are made by either convention/party. No matter who gets voted in, it's still going to be gridlocked unless we all vote one of the parties in as a majority across the board. That would be not be a good thing.

I think i'm gonna support Trump, i don't want another Clinton in the white house, and i want some change in their government, with Clinton everything will remain the same, if Trump is chosen as the next president, things will be changing in the government as well, because Trump is not from the corrupt government, and Hillary is from the corrupt government :)
Go Donald Trump :cheer: :cheer:

Yep, lots will be changing. His plan to give massive tax cuts to those on all levels of income will either "increase the national debt by nearly 80 percent of gross domestic productby 2036" or mean large government spending cuts. So there's that to look forward to.
Another thing changing will be the dismantling of consumer protection laws, like the Dodd-Frank act. Oh, and also repealing Obamacare.
Then there are his threats to "walk away" from our NATO allies and not protect them from Russian aggression unless they are contributing enough to the alliance, which can only be a stabalising force in the world, right?
Oops, let's not forget the small matter of the federal minimum wage, which he wants to get rid of. As he said, "But I'd rather leave it to the states. Let the states decide." That means no floor. Under President Trump, states will be able to set the minimum wage as low or as high as they like. And he seems to believe wages are too high as they are: "Taxes too high, wages too high, we’re not going to be able to compete against the world."

Trump is going to take it. As Michael Moore is crudely putting it, Middle America did not want 8 years under a black president, so next there will be a woman, and then what. A gay one?

wrong. brexit is the best thing ever.....its two fingers to the corporate takeover of europe ...a corporate takeover which is also responsible for the wars in the middle east and the migrant crisis...the real war is the elite 0.1% against the rest

I did my part and voted in my state's primary to stop prevent a Hillary/Trump ticket, but everyone else is on there own :spin:

Unfortunately not. Brilliant though he undeniably is, I don't think President Trump will find anywhere for him to espouse his brilliant ideas.

He can still go on a speech tour and be a valuable part of the broader discussion of American issues at home. I actually think he would be more effective in that arena because frankly, everything he says will always be accused of being politicized as long as he's a sitting president. At least without the title, he can come down and be on the same level as any other citizen... except his opinion(s) would be more valuable than most given he would have some experience(s) that others can't possibly have.
He's a published author too

Trump stands no chance. The Democratic convention showed a stark contrast between Democrats and Republicans when it comes to vision, and Republicans are all on the air now admitting that they blew it. Trump is doom and gloom and out there make these insane comments - the latest about how he wants to beat up the speakers at the DNC. The DNC is nothing but positivity, patriotism, and making the country the best it can be. The RNC is being headed up by a buffoon who does nothing but tweet all day like a Kardashian. Good luck at the debates Trump, cause you're gonna need it. Watch him demand a million dollars to turn up like he did with Bernie Sanders. When the money was put up, he still wouldn't do it.
Let's do lunch
