TV licensing is such an outdated concept in 2016 when there are so many channels. Time it was abolished.

I thought you had to have one anyway?

Not to watch programmes already shown on TV.

Yeah, I always get a pop up asking me if I have a TV License.

That popup only mentions live broadcasts.

The iPlayer is a money grab anyway, it isn't worth the licence fee. They can't wait to take off programmes and transfer them to their BBC Store for purchase. It's more like iCatchup as it is. Maybe if they actually had a back catalogue it would be worth something.

Hopefully these students know that they can't be fined unless they sign the paper the TV license lot bring round that basically is you giving them permission to prosecute you. Sly twats.

I understand the no licence no iplayer deal. What i dont understand is why bbc can have about ten youtube accounts and turn monetisation on for them. If theyre making a hefty profit through google adverisements, why arent we getting a discount?

I emailed them that once, they never replied.

I do have a life sometimes i promise.

You do realise the BBC has a commercial branch separate from the homegrown license payer funded BBC?
