i thought i liked Biggins. or what he seemed to have represented. now the man we see , and read about seems completely different than the one portrayed over the years.
Not great retirement party Biggins!
apparently Nazi comments where the last straw in a line of inappropriate comments to housemates.
Channel 5 has chosen not to air the comments.
so many celebrities hide their political views! perhaps its time they would make them known. i don't want to follow, or support any Nazi lovers!
Great Retirement Party Biggins WD. life achieving accolade !

I was talking to a guy the other day who then mentioned Hitler. Gawd knows where that can from.:shrug:
Then he basically said it was okay for Hitler to murder millions of people, including children.
In 2016 you would not think these comments would ever be uttered again. They're vile and and disgusting.

Gusto Brunt it is rather sickening tbh. ran out of means to shock? some just do it because they like to see the reactions on others. but there are those who are more dangerous. revisionists who want to change history despite the facts! just read Nazi diaries or watch
THEIR own archives!!!

If they won't show it, then how can any of us possibly comment with accuracy? It's such a wind up, as we all want to know the truth, and not let rumours run wild.
As far as Biggins goes, rather than make a joke or express an opinion, perhaps he should have smashed a window or spat in someone's food? Then he would still be in there.
Such is the logic of BB in 2016

It's nice to know that they could have just ignored it and edit it out, yet they chose to pull him out of there.
At least some integrity in there.

If they cut it, and he won, then the others started telling people abot the things he had been saying that were cut out, it would proably cause them a lot more trouble.
If it's a case of C5 literally not being legally able to air the comments he made then they weren't mild or "just jokes", clearly. If it was just BB themselves choosing not to air them then that would be different.

It's always the ones you least expect as well! Recently I had two o ld guys arguing over immigration, heated but rational arguments... this other lovely seeming little old man is wandering past and says, entirely seriously "Hmph. Hitler had the right idea thats what I say." and carried on walking :umm2:.

They have to show all he said otherwise they will be crucified for evicting him for no apparent reason. He needs outing anyway as he is only a sad old queen anyway. His laugh is so condescending that it makes me want to slap him.

Yep, we've got to be told the nature of the 'comments likely to cause widespread offence', even if C5 doesn't air them or the transcript.

Even he can't be so stupid as to say he supports the Nazis ideology ...it must have been something said in humour and it's blown up in his face....I always said he's not talented and not funny.....Joan Rivers could get away with that stuff, Biggins isn't skilled enough to.

I think we must wait and see exactly what the comments were (in tonight's programme apparently).

They're saving it for the show, are they? Usually the transcript is being published before it's broadcasted.

People like Biggins, who laugh too much, are often hiding nastiness and anger. Biggins doesn't laugh full on, either.

Christopher Biggins to visit Auschwitz after CBB Holocaust 'joke'
he said to Katie Waissel, who is Jewish:
As housemates queued for the bathroom, he said: "You better be careful or they'll be putting you in a shower and taking you to a room."
Bad choice of words yet again from Christopher Biggins :
"It's strange that I had already decided to experience it myself."
i really don't think you would like to experience it "for yourself'.

err NO Jewish children were adopted by the British during the war - the ones that had the money to make it - back then planes couldn't fly into enemy territory land and pick people up...
All races have been oppressed in history at some point.

I feel sure he does know that. As another poster here mentioned, Joan Rivers would probably have got away with this sort of joke, but Biggins, unfortunately, fell victim to over-cautious BB producers making knee-jerk decisions.

People overreacting and acting like they don't know he was joking .... He is not a Jew hater or a Hitler lover any more than Joan Rivers was when she made similiar jokes....What a ridiculous witch hunt people are taking part in.
If sticking labels on people is how some folks like to roll then they should at least make sure it's the right label.
Making reference to history does not make some one a Jew hater ... What's more offensive are the young people who don't even know the history or the extreme PC brigade who try and re write it like it didn't happen.
Maybe Biggins mistake will have actually educated a few people.

Would he have been thrown out for making jokes about other horrific wars/genocides such as Pol Pot's Cambodia in the 1960s, Rwandan massacres in the 1990s or the Iraq invasion in 2003?
All of which are full of appalling and upsetting horrors just like the death camps of WW2. I wonder if ALL those type of subjects are off limits in the BB house now, or is it just WW2 that you can't joke about?

"All races have been oppressed in history at some point." is a very dismissive and inaccurate observation on your behalf sungrass. .
whilst other races unfortunately also been persecuted, and although Jews were not the only ones to be executed in Germany they were the majority. the Holocaust was "designed' for the Jews.
when you hear the words "the Final Solution" you do not think :Hitler meant to rid Germany specifically of any one else. you think: He aimed to get rid of the Jews whom he perceived to be a threat.
that experience should teach us in Britain be careful not to fall into the pit of hatred when dealing with Muslims now. need to keep it under check so it does not get out of hand.

"Making reference to history does not make some one a Jew hater"
i agree it does not. but it was not a History debate. and was not a point in a discussion. it was made in a relaxed social situation to a single person.
telling a Jew to watch out or they will be gassed whilst waiting their turn to the shower is rather sick, and sickening. intellectually you could detect the inferences there. it is quite possible Biggins did not mean it, but because his intellect and knowledge is now questionable so is his intent.
Joan Rivers was Jewish. and she was a Naturally funny lady.
