The question is who do you prefer
and do you think shilpa can make it bigger in both bollywood and abroad in her film career.

I think shilpa does have this potential but she appeals more to the uk than to hollywood, but ash appeals more to hollywood than to the uk

so both women work in places where the other has no appeal

could shilpa be really successful more succesful than ash?

Aishwariya is gorgeous also but I prefer Shilpa mainly because i've seen the real her in CBB whereas I don't really know Aishwariya except from one movie.
Plus I can't spell her name and it sounds terrible when I try to pronounce it. lol

^ both of them have big eyes.......I would say both, because they both have a nice combination of beauty and intellegence, talent, both can speak more than 4 languages, both are classy, elegant, modern yet traditional, and have done India good.

Ash is good for commerciability, but thats where her credentials run and finish off too. She is a stunning women, but thats all she is. She isn't much of an actress either. I dont care for the number of hits she has delivered. Box office success doesn't dictate whether if one is a success or not, or if one can be called an actor or not.
Shilpa on the other hand, someone I have grown up seeing has grown from strength to strength. She has evolved as an actress and that growth is visable for all too see. She is someone who the media have not been so willing to give her the much overdue acclaim she rightly deserves but that doesn't take away from her the talent she has.
And another reason why I chose Shilpa is because, having seen her on CBB justifies all that I had read about her and seen of her from live interviews too. She hasn't changed from the chirpy and constantly laughing girl I have grown up seeing. Ash on the other hand comes across as fake and her real life persona sucks.

Also, outer beauty alone doesn't make one attractive. Personality, or lack of it, can take away your beauty. Ash is one of those who fall in this section. Gorgeous as she may be, shes as a damp as wet cloth otherwise

I don't think you've seen her movies shilpafan, devdas, choker bali, provoked, guru, she came in bollywood later than shilpa and she has grown quite a lot within the few years she's worked. you can't say she's fake when you don't know her...she may come across as fake to some because some ppl just can't take the fact that she's everything I mentioned earlier. just the way jade called shilpa fake because it's rare that you come across ppl like them.

One person can't satisfy every individual on this planet and so people will like her, ppl will hate her.

Mansi I have been watching Bollywood films for over 16 years, I think I can safely say in those years I have watched enough Ash films.

Films like Chokerbali, no matter how they turn out, even if its a flop, the actors of the film will get critical acclaim and thats why alot of actors are doing unconventional low budget films.
Provoked hasn't even come out, so neither you or I can judge her on that.
Yes I have seen Guru, but anyone could have done that role with their eyes closed.
Devdas was such a film, that whoever had acted out as Paro would have got applause. The film was a rarity and would have been a hit, no matter who starred in the film or who directed the film. The USP of that film was its script and not the performers as such.
Pre Hum Dil Chuke Sanam, how many bigwig directors were keen to sign her up? Post that one film, people just tapped into the success that the film brought along to her.
Im not saying she is the worst actor. She has potential, but most of what she has done is a weak job to me.
And yes I can say she is a fake. Shows like Kofee with Karan and Rendezvous with Simi Garewal are insights for fans to see what the personality of their fav actors are like.
One common thing noted about Ash on all her appearances is that, she isn't too kind with compliments on her competition. Namely Sushmita Sen. Ash always freezes on hearing her name, whereas Sush is so easy to compliment Ash, and if anything perhaps too much.
Jade called Shilpa a fake for a different reason to what I am basing my reasons for calling Ash a fake. Watch the DEVDAS making and see her appreances on OPRAH and if you are not biased, you'll see the put on changes that have taken place. And whoever talked about Ash having to satisfy everyone? Now you are taking this to a different level alltogether.
So to end it. Ash is fake to me.

Hear hear! I don't find anything admirable in Ash either. Her beauty is striking but thats the first and last thing that comes to mind about her.
And I agree her stint on Simi Garewall was to laugh at and she hardly answered anything, displaying that yet again so popular arrogant air about herself. And Sushmita Sen is an absolutley gem. She is also another case of beauty, personality and sensitivity. But hey, thats just yours and my and opinion.
