Comic Relief Does Fame Academy [merged]

One of my favourite shows is returning next month, the "rip off" of Pop Idol returns. Will you be watching. From Digital Spy heres a brief summary:

More celebrities have been announced for this year's Celebrity Fame Academy, which hits TV screens next month.

Joining already confirmed Tara Palmer-Tompkinson and former EastEnders actor Shaun Williamson is Radio 1 presenter Colin Murray, Blue Peter host Zoe Salmon and CBBC presenter Angellica Bell.

Also on the list are Heartbeart actress Tricia Penrose and Birds Of A Feather star Linda Robson.

The series returns to BBC1 early in March in time for this year's Comic Relief.

I found TPT extremely funny on last night's show, although I think there'll be a point at which it becomes no-longer funny and starts to be annoying!

I think Mel, Colin, Tricia, Zoe and Tara will go far.

Colin Murray surprised me - he was much better than I thought he would be. Barry/Shaun has the best voice, but I did think his performance was boring. Tricia Penrose was very good. Rowland was awful, but I think he should have stayed instead of Miranda, because she was even worse! Zoe and Tim weren't too bad.

Fred's was the only performance I missed. Miranda was awful - she is quite funny as an actress, but the whole 'funny' performance on Saturday did nothing for me.

Tara Palme Tomkinson - I've only just remembered her performance. The signing was terrible but one of my friends keeps reassuring me that she's fit. On Saturday when I saw her at the end of her song, all sweaty and everything, I finally saw it. I hope Tara does quite well in the competition.

I love Tara - I think she's a bit crazy, but in the good way. I'd like to see her do well.

Mel was my fave tonight, i can't belive she is in the bottom 3.

Linda Robson went. The bottom three were Angelica, Linda and Fred. The judges saved Angelica and the other students saved Fred - it was a close vote though! Linda was awful, so she deserved to go.

She was. She murdered 'Like A Prayer'. I'm not sure she can improve, and even if she does, it still doesn't mean that she will be any good.

She looked petrified, but not as sweaty as usual. She sang 'Jolene' and although it wasn't brilliant, it wasn't awful. I really like Tara, she's almost childlike in a lot of ways. I hope she does well in this competition.

My personal fave at the moment is Tim Vine.

I didn't know - well until I found out on Saturday - that Tim Vine is Jeremy Vines brother. What different career paths the two brother have chose.

I want Colin, Tara or Mel to win. There is something about Angellica that i like aswell but i cant quite out my finger on what it is.

I want Fred or Tim to go tonight.

Colin sang Sweet Caroline. It wasn't bad, but I still think his best performance was Teenage Kicks.

Shaun / Barry sang You Give Me Something. He has a great voice and he did the song well, but I don't think the judges like him! They said that he is still not challenging himself and that he had the voice, but not the soul (or something like that).

Fred did Living Doll. It was his best performance yet, and I was quite surprised that he was in the bottom 3.

Tim sang Disco Inferno. I feared the worst before it started, but he was actually really good and all the judges thought he was good too, even the orange one, who doesn't seem to like anyone.

Ray sang Wonderwall, and to be honest, I thought he was one of the worst. I was convinced he would be in the bottom 3, but I think people must be voting for him for the fact that he's such a nice guy.

Angelica was rubbish. She looks great, but her voice is bad.

Zoe sang Suddenly I See, which she really seemed to struggle with. But she looked amazing!

Linda sang Crazy (Patsy Cline, not Gnarls Barklay). It wasn't the worst performance of the night, but it was pretty dire. For one thing, she sang 'Crazeh' instead of 'Crazy' throughout the song, and it was out of tune.

Tricia sang What's Love Got To Do With It? She was pretty good actually. She's been consistent so far. I bet she's in the final.

Mel sang The Winner Takes It All. The judges were quite hard on her, but I thought she did okay, although it was her worst performance yet.


I reckon Angelica will be next out.

He was one of the best ones. He, Mel and Zoe were in the bottom three (I thought Mel and Zoe were both pretty ropey tonight, but Tim was really good). Craig wanted to save Mel, Lesley wanted to save Tim, but Richard had the deciding vote and saved Zoe. Then the students saved Mel. I was very surprised. I think everyone was surprised that Tim wasn't saved by the public vote.

Another surprise was that Angellica was actually pretty good tonight! (As good as anybody can be singing a Spice Girls song anyway).

Im so shocked tat Mel is in the Bottom 3! Why!? She is brillant.

I was surprised at the bottom 3. Well, not Zoe (although I do think she's getting better) but Mel was good (even though she didn't actually sing) and Tim has a voice and entertainment value so I was really surprised that he left!

I liked Mel a lot on the first night, the next two shows she wasn't great but tonight I liked her performance again. If she had been more consistent I think she would've been a contender but now it seems she's not going to get the vote.

Angellica WAS really good wasn't she? The chorus was terrible I thought but otherwise I thought she was quite good and has shown the most improvement. I hope she does well but she may have to rely on the judges vote a few more times in future. She's really sweet as well.

TPT is brilliant. There's something about her I really like. I think I just like her as a person so I'm deluded into thinking that her performances are great. But I don't care, she's one of my favourites.

Ray must go asap. No voice, no moves, no comedy, not ANY kind of appeal whatsoever except for the fact that he's a nice guy, but they're all pretty nice. Colin sucks and is getting the Radio 1 vote methinks. It's not a NI vote neither because I'm from NI and still think he sucks.

Fred isn't bad, but isn't quite good neither. Should last a couple of more shows at the most. IDC.

Zoe is alright. She's getting better and I think she'll continue to do so.

Tricia and Shaun are undoubtedly the best singers. I think they will need to show more personality and do something more fun and upbeat to win, but both have been brilliant so far, but for some reason I like other less-talented contestants much more.

I think I've covered all the contestants, if I've left any out then they are forgettable and they suck.

I can't remember who said it but I agree the show not as good last year. The judges are just too mean. It's supposed to be entertaining and that lot seem to enjoy upsetting the contestants. Not very entertaining.

I think the celebs this year are pretty boring...the element that its all for charity seems overshadowed by the celebs actually wanting to win this year. Singing wise I think Colin was great and so was Tricia and they seem to play safe and do well. Other acts which I thought would be the "Ruby Wax" this year have failed to make an entertaining impact. Mel is trying hard to be entertaining but not quite pulling it off.

What I dont like about Shaun is, he takes it to seriously.

I'm pretty gutted that Tim Vine went last night. To me, he's what Comic Relief is all about - a true performer. He was excellent last night and no way should he have gone.

Been watching it interactive this morning and Ray Stubbs is singing Lola - in rehersals he was pretty good. Tricia Primrose is singing Road Rage and at dance rehersals with Kevin Adams they were doing quite an angry approach - think she'll end tonight's performance throwing her mike down.

I don't hope that Angellica will make the final (unless she shows miraculous improvement!) even though I think she's made the most improvement and is one of my favourites. I actually thought she was the best last night. I hope she gets the public vote another couple of times at least before she goes. I also really like TPT.

Last night the bottom 3 should've been Colin, Ray, and someone else but I don't know who. Not Tim or Mel anyway. Maybe Zoe was rightfully in the bottom 3 based on performance but I do like her and think she's getting better. I'm glad she was saved.

Even with Shaun's fantastic voice, MEL should've been saved by the judges. Apart from Tara she was the best tonight. She was hilarious. And it is COMIC Relief as everyone keeps saying!

Tim should never have been voted out though - he was one of the best.

I don't think Barry will win - he is treating it as though his life depends on it. Tara may have a good chance of winning, but then again, I thought that about Tim.

I agree Barry is taking it far to seriously and needs to liven up. IMO Tricia has the best voice not him anyway. Now Mel has gone I think the acadamy will change a fair bit because she was the funny one. Still want Tricia to win. Angelica should go next...playing for sympathy votes sucks.

I think its a bit of a both. For me, the person has to make me smile and laugh but also has have a decent enough voice. The only person who ticked both them boxes for me was Mel, with Tara in second place. But tonight Tara didn't make me laugh, that's why i ranked her so low, and her singing wasn't the best she has done. Angellica has improved a lot but now the other have caught up with her again. The only person i feel hasn't improved is Fred.

I find it hard to like Shaun because hes acting like theres a million pound contract at the end of the show. He can't smile and I just sigh everytime he comes on. Fred is just blah!

Tara - Still backing her to win but tonight her performance wsn't as great as usual. Hoping she's safe

Ray - I liked him tonight, good performance.

Angellica - Her vocals are still improving. A good performance for her abilities.

Tricia - Very good. I don't normally back the singers much, I go for the best performance but she was the best tonight. I wouldn't agree with Lesley that it was the best performance of the series though, unless she said best vocal in which case is probably right.

Colin - Bad performance. Bad attitude. As usual, didn't like him tonight.

Shaun - His best so far even though I think he went off-key at one part near the end. But I'm not one to nit-pick. Much.

I think Colin should have gone. He murdered Unchained Melody, and his and Tara's duet was painful to watch. Apart from Teenage Kicks and Ring of Fire, Colin hasn't been very good on any of the nights. He couldn't remember the words to his duet with Tara and both of them were rubbish in that. Still, Tara has been very good on other nights, but Colin is easily the worst one there. Plus he's an arrogant t**t.

Btw, can anyone tell me why Tara wasn't singing with Lemar, when Lemar sang with the whole group? I know Ray couldn't do it because he wasn't well, but why wasn't Tara in the group thing with Lemar?

Wow, I thought Ray was going to win this! It was really bad that happened to him because he was one of the most positive and nicest people in the whole contest, and even though he was always crap he was a great guy.

Colin sucked last night. Even if Ray DIDN'T have that virus and performed as he did last night, even he was better than Colin! He murdered a song I loathe anyway, and it was so excrutiating I'm still complaining even though I hate the song! And I get the feeling he still has a chip on his shoulder with Tara... he was awful in that duet whereas Tara was quite good and showed some effort, whereas when he was singing with Lemar and the other students (a performance which didn't include Tara) he enjoyed it more and gave it more commitment.

Well anyway, moving on to Tara, she was really good last night. Not the best singing, but she was still great. I was glad to see her get through because I don't think she'd get the judges or the students vote.

Tricia was the best last night by a mile. In her performance with Shaun she outsang him too, and I had always thought Shaun was a better singer. If Tara doesn't win then it has to be Tricia for me after last night!

Shaun was good, but is normally the best vocalist to me but Tricia "upped her game" as Cary and David predicted and she was way better. If anyone is voting for a singer rather than an entertainer/performer then I think that vote is now more likely to go to Tricia.

I think Tricia has been the most constant throughout the whole thing. She deserves to be in the final two with Tara or Shaun. I feel Colin thinks he would walk this but is only still there because of who he is. Shaun annoys me because he knows he is good and thinks he is the best...so I think I want Tricia and Tara final two with Tricia best voice winning over TPT.

I think it was obvious Tara would win just because of the whole "journey" factor. Tricia has been brilliant since day 1 and is the better singer but the entertainment factor Tara had.
