Race row Jade gets no Relief
JADE Goody has been axed from Comic Relief thanks to her Big Brother racism shame.
The disgraced reality TV star had already filmed A Question Of Comedy — a spoof of BBC1 hit quiz A Question Of Sport.
A source revealed: “There was no way Jade could appear on Comic Relief after Celebrity Big Brother.
“She is untouchable despite her best PR efforts to redeem herself.”
The gobby mum of two, 25, was at the centre of a global scandal after laying into Bollywood babe Shilpa Shetty.
She called the Indian movie star “Shilpa Poppadom”, “*******awalla”, and told her she “needs a day in the slums”.
The fallout forced Jade into the Priory Clinic with stress and depression.
Now, with just three weeks before Red Nose Day on March 16, frantic Comic Relief bosses are replacing the South Londoner’s show with a Never Mind The Buzzcocks special.
Jade’s scrapped quiz cost £80,000 and was recorded in November with host Jack Dee and team captains Frank Skinner and Dara O’Briain.
Last night a Comic Relief spokeswoman said: “We filmed A Question Of Comedy back in November. Recent events have overtaken us and the show now feels out of date.
“It didn’t make any sense that none of the panellists referred to Celebrity Big Brother and the race row. We had no choice but to scrap it. It looked odd and Jade didn’t fit on Comic Relief.”
“Red Nose Day is all about raising money and anything that could potentially detract from this is not helpful.”
Simon Amstell will now front the Buzzcocks special, which will be filmed within the next few days. It will be shown on BBC2 on Comic Relief night.
Jade is moving home because of security fears after her windows were smashed.
