Can someone please tell me how people that have switched off can still remain bastions of the unseen episodes and fountains of knowledge concerning all things BB related.

I find it all very funny and remain sceptical of their utterances.

Haha, indeed. So many don't watch as its such trash, yet still know exactly what has gone on and discuss it for hours on end. It can happen I guess if you don't watch and just read updates and such, but surely this defeats the object of the strop about the show being tacky or whatever the latest issue is :D

Dunno. But I switched off BB17 and only needed to hear about some of the "twists" to know I made the right decision.

I managed to pretty much switch off the Peter season and still follow it... You can watch just the evictions and they recap most of it. I skipped a lot of Helen Wood too.

If you're just watching highlights (of the edited highlights) I don't think you can have fully informed opinions about everything that goes on.

You can switch off for a few days and still keep up to date by watching BBOTS.
I did, the break does you the world of good.

Speaking for myself, I have hardly any posts since I switched off as I can't talk about what I haven't seen. I watched tonight's episode but usually I just watch the tail end of the eviction shows and have a look in here now and then to see if anything exciting has happened/is about to happen. It's an awful series and I prefer the Olympics....

I threatened to stop watching for years but never have. However, I really think this might be my last series. The scripting and staging is absolutely obvious now and they are even starting to edit it like x-factor and TOWIE.

I didn't finish tonight's episode. Lost interest after Lewis explained his 5 year plan. Anything cringey like that puts me off watching. But I'm sure I'll watch tomorrow.

I think if theres more than 3 models in the next normal bb, i wont watch it. This is the worst cbb ever but i dont think its a reason to stop watching it, they splash out on the budget and its usually good. There have been several bad bb's though..

I was thinking the same thing Sammy. If I genuinely switched off I would not even come into the forums I would just go do other things or watch other programmes. it would take a HUGE HUGE pile for me to give up on a series of BB.

The entire cast seems to be made up of models recently. Not sure if it was this year or last but I remember someone posting a thread about housemates occupations and like 10 of them were models, or had another job but were also a model..

I tend to threaten to switch off a lot. Only time I actually did was in bb13 which I am now told was one of the best ever...but I couldn't get into it at all and it seemed like an effort to watch it past week 3 or something :S Don't usually bother with CBBs either unless I am super bored for the first week which gives me time to grow addicted.

Oh yeh! I know, I'm completely certain I wont be watching it next summer. I'll watch the launch and reconsider if there are less than three models though. I'm giving that a chance of about 0.8%

That generous? :p

Wish they would go back to normal auditions. I don't mind 'model' types as such as long as there is some personality to back it up, but when you grab all of the HMs via agents...they don't know anything about them. At least with the auditions they know (usually) who will be half decent.

Also want no more 'celebs' in normal BB. Lateysha and Marco are more famous than half of the current CBB house, and its a bit crap

BB is the original and best idea ever. What more is there to say?

I think we should be grateful for Endemol/Ch5's version of BBUK. It is still better than the US version any time because the US version is more like a dark cartoon (of course they don't ever do a celeb. version - as it would pop the bubble) with some very weird parts as it goes along.
The UK versions are the real stuff...I mean look at the disclaimers before each episode about nudity, bad language, the flashing of genitals and fat bastards actually making sense (Heavy D wins; Katie was done like her grandmother's arsehole). The UK version of BB is best.

Yeh id love normal auditions again. The best thing about c4 bb was that they barely ever put in 2 people who would have ever met in the real world and it was interesting watching them interact, but on c5 it just looks like a bunch of buddies having a laugh and having a fight.. and I think Im over it really..

You'll be back like the rest of 'em :fist:
the more you hate a great idea the more you've got to work out why...you'll be back.:douf:

..I miss you, Jet.....but yeah, I'm dipping in and out with the Olympics as well..it is actually possible not to fully watch it and still just comment on various aspects that you see because it's not as if we don't just get a bite-size with only HL shows anyway so it's just a slightly less of a bite....

those that don't watch may not be able to comment on specifics, but there is still a lot they can comment on. Its not a forum prerequisite to have watched the previous 100 hours of highlights or whatever

Haha yeah.'I've switched off,I can't watch this trash.I read all the updates and news and know more about it than most of you though'
Seems to defeat the purpose of switching off

Obviously not enough have turned off considering last night was the highest rated show since launch.
