Why on earth was Paul shouting 'yes yes yes', and punching the when he simply opened the 'round-trip ticket' envelope and pulled out a useless piece of cardboard? Way to get luck and skill confused for a long loud time.

If he attempting to use psychology, then where is the game leverage in looking like a bit of a tool? His idea seems to confirm a kind of redundancy in his game.

I dunno, I was shouting "yes" as well, because I wanted him to have had it, because he solved the riddles first...

Because there was a 1 in 12 (or something) chance of having it and he picked the right one. You wouldn't just have no emotions or not care.
