Gaga :shame: I actually only love her Fame/Fame Monster era and haven't been that interested in most of the stuff she did afterwards (maybe the odd song here and there), but as much as Madonna is a massive legend, and objectively she's obviously the bigger/more successful/more iconic 'star', I've never really been a big fan of hers personally, and regardless of success or legendary status etc, I do think Gaga is way more talented.

Gaga :shame: I actually only love her Fame/Fame Monster era and haven't been that interested in most of the stuff she did afterwards (maybe the odd song here and there), but as much as Madonna is a massive legend, and objectively she's obviously the bigger/more successful/more iconic 'star', I've never really been a big fan of hers personally, and regardless of success or legendary status etc, I do think Gaga is way more talented.

I can't at this.... and I always thought you were a kindred spirit... but you just don't understand what madonna is if you think Gaga's one album/era success matches decade upon decade of Madonna's music, movie, fashion, and diva icon success.

:laugh: It's not that I think that album matches Madonna's success, it's that that's the only album from either of them that I like, I totally get Madonna's appeal and objectively she's the bigger icon, she's just never really appealed to me personally :shame:

MADONNA has an amazing back catalogue of work and is she is extremely creative. The millennials just don't understand how massive she was in the 80's and 90's. Like A Virgin, True Blue, Like A Prayer and The Immaculate Collection were HUGE selling album's and the tours made her so much money. The only other big artist at the time was Michael Jackson. Of course, we had George Michael, Whitney and Prince but they weren't nearly as popular.

Madonna had 7 #1 singles within the space of 5 years.

Gags was ok when she released "The Fame", but everything after that has been dire imo, and let's face it, if it wasn't for the weird costumes, she wouldn't have received half the adoration she's received. I think the reason many people dislike her is her desperation, lies and sh!tty attitude, not to mention her fanbase. Her obsession with trying to get a #1 is hilarious. I mean for someone who claims to "not write for the charts" look how many times she's tried to rig it. Everything she does seems forced. Nothing's organic. She does have a good voice, but I just don't like her at all.

I prefer Gaga but it's likely because of my age
She was the first artist I would say I was ever a fan of and she's remanded my Fave artist ever regardless of what others release

The first person I saw on a live tour, the first album I bought - she just has a good place in my heart and j grew up in the Gaga peak when she was the biggest thing in pop

If I was 15 years older I would probabaly prefer Madonna but I've only lived through the downfall of her - I never experienced her peak

Both are legends who changed the pop culture of their times though
