Simon Cowell has confirmed that there ARE changes being made to the live shows for The X Factor 2016 - including one new feature he's wanted for a while.
The new series is mostly going back to basics, with the return of room auditions, long-time presenter Dermot O'Leary, original judges Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne and fan favourite Nicole Scherzinger.
But it's not all tradition, as Simon has confirmed that bosses are giving the live shows a bit of a revamp.
"We’re going to make a couple of changes to the live shows," he said. "There will be one feature that we’ve been talking about for a while which I am excited about. It’s going to make the shows more fun."

Fountain Studios is being demolished? Or has it already started?

Get rid of double eliminations and never bring flash vote back again. :fc:

Fountain's not set to be demolished until next year, so I don't think there'll be a major set refresh this time round.
It sounds like they're probably introducing the scoring that they dropped last year, which I'm not too sure on.

I don't want scoring! Or an extra guest judge each week!
I might stop watching this year and watch Strictly instead (I only have room for one on a Saturday night), I can't be doing with Sharon.

I actually didn't mind the flash vote for two reasons.
1. The acts that were coming bottom of the vote was gonna be in the bottom three or four anyway.
2. It encourages the die hard fans to vote on the performances on the night instead of the general public that follows the storyboard that Simon gives out the chance to wreck it all.
I'm hoping that when he means revamped that we actually get a diverse set of singers and song choices at the lives, and not all Diva Shouters shouting through Whitney and Shirley Bassey.

Get rid of the ridiculous 5 minute intro segments that are nearly always some variation of that weeks sob story ('this week I stubbed my toe, but I will soldier on' type rubbish) and give each act 2 songs instead of all the filler rubbish each week?! :amazed:
No...didn't think so
Lostie!

That is I think one of the main problems though - sure it's good to have the most consistent performers get through, but if someone has an 'off' night I don't think that means they should just be instantly eliminated. Fanbase is a big part of the music industry in the real world so I think it's a crucial part of voting rather than leaving it purely down to the casual viewers.
