Emma Willis to quit Big Brother & Rylan to take over?

FORMER X Factor star Rylan Clark-Neal looks set to cement himself as one of the best TV presenters in the business.

The Essex lad is on the verge of replacing Emma Willis to present Big Brother from 2017.

According to multiple sources the flamboyant star has been in talks for weeks to host the main Channel 5 show when Emma steps down.

An initial whistleblower told Daily Star Online: "Emma loves the show but feels it is time to move on.

"The decision to leave has come from her and not Channel 5.

"Big Brother has been a big part of her career but with three children, a show on Heart Radio and presenting The Voice on ITV next year it just wasn't practical."

A second source close to the show continued: "Obviously Rylan is excited about the job but he's really nervous about filling Emma's shoes.

"She's been such a big part of the programme anyone would have second thoughts about following her onto the main show.

"His stint on Bit On The Side has been a huge success but landing the top gig will really cement him as a star."

A third source also confirmed the claims when we sought to verify them this week.

However, when contacted by Daily Star Online Channel 5 initially refused to comment.

That being said, after we told them we were still going to publish the claims, they updated their response to: "This is untrue."

Meanwhile, a rep for Emma and Rylan, who conveniently share the same management, said: "There are is no truth in this."

The news comes just weeks after Rylan was confirmed to co-host Xtra Factor this autumn.

However, unlike Emma's gig fronting The Voice, Rylan's role on Xtra Factor will be over by the time the new series of Big Brother starts.

I wouldn't say it's hate for Rylan (I myself have said many times that I like him on his other projects outside of Big Brother). It's just that he's not really main-show material - we've already been through this before with the transition of Brian to Emma. Brian was replaced because he too wasn't main-show material. Both of the current hosts suite their current roles - if Emma quits then someone else should be brought in to replace her. It isn't Rylan's time to step up yet.

I don't Hate Rylan on BOTS as the show has changed a lot anyway and is he kinda a fitting presenter as he is for xtra factor as well

If this turned out to be true, then for me it is time for Emma to move one really,she has become very biased as to certain housemates in the last 2 to 3 series.
She will however do very well in other projects elsewhere on TV as she is a good presenter normally.

They likely would have to give Rylan the chance to present the main show after allowing Emma to take over from Brian.
She had a far easier task taking over from Brian than Brian had to be fair to him, taking over from Davina.

I'd still watch it no matter who presents it, the main show as the presenter more controlled as to launch nights and evictions,actually the main show has to be kept moving and Rylan would be likely toned down by time constraints.
Not that much is seen of the main show presenter anyway.

This may be a move for the better now if it is true and comes about.

Cosyed up to blubber man homes and his wife to gain access to day time tv. He's a goddam awful presenter and that's when you can understand what he is saying and as for co presenting with his wife,the ex copper wannabee presenter. Talk about committing suicide on live tv- surprised they didn't go their separate ways after that little exercise.

Not keen on Willis, they both are way too big for their boots and there must be presenters aplenty waiting in the wings that could do a much better job at hosting such a show.

But it would help if the show was consistent- " It's a game, it's only a game, they are playing a gamin there" we have repeatedly heard through out BB and CBB this year.

He puts everyone at their ease, treats everyone equally, manages to control rowdy HMs with good humour and still manages to ask the big awkward questions without offending anyone - Emma cannot manage all that.

He is also game for a laugh, very quick witted and very respectful and clued up about the entertainment industry in which he works

He's a gem to be fair. Most other presenters are up their own back alley or have zero personality.

Reading between the lines I am sure Emma is totally peed off with the way the programme has become. It has become a sex/swear fest between participants and has really scraped the bottom of the barrel with Stephen Bear.
As for Rylan, he is lovely ... warm and intelligent. You couldn't get a better host! But who will take his place on BBBOTS?
