Jade Goody is struggling to win over a sceptical Indian public as she tries to undo the damage caused by her Celebrity Big Brother antics.

The 25-year-old former dental nurse says she is on a charity mission in New Delhi and has given £25,000 to help homeless slum children.

However, one resident said: "We don't want her here. (One person speaks for the whole nation now?)

"It's not enough to get her picture taken with a few children and think that's atonement for her deeds.

"She has insulted our nation."

Goody's visit follows alleged racist bullying of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty in the House.

Shilpa Shetty The press is also unimpressed, accusing her of trying to rebuild her shattered image.

The Times of India - the world's largest selling English daily - headlines its report: "'Charitable' Jade meets kids for a Goody cause'."

It even added quotation marks around the word charitable, just in case readers didn't get the point.

One media official said: "It is as if she wants the attention but she doesn't want the attention. (Notice one persons comment).

"One minute she is holding a news conference, next, she is avoiding us.

"The reaction amongst the Indian press has been mostly negative because her agents are being very rude to us."

Is this really much of a surprise? At least now she can say she tried. I'm surprised to an extent because they haven't been as hostile as I expected, but that's just how they are. Instead of causing a huge uproar and being openly horrible, they're thinking rationally and explaining exactly and in a crystal clear manner why they don't want to let everything go just like that. Jade has wronged; I can still picture the things she was saying and the mental way she was speaking in the BB house right now in my head. The fight to win, "India" over is a tough one for Jade Goody. Please don't expect miracles! She is making the effort and is showing real courage for her decision.

The problem in India, is, which is quite obvious. She has been on the TV and in their local newspapers as a Racist Bully. This is cemented in many of their minds.

Suddenly, she arrives in India and there is hostility brewing. There was complaints about her staying in that top hotel. Living the life of luxury, in a country where she has offended many of the people living there. Jade cannot change the past. But, she is trying to make good in the present. Also, wanting a brighter future for herself and her family.

Jade Goody is NO WAY a racist person. They couldn't allow racism on the Big Brother show. It is a very strict rule.

It just came over that way. Little words that got said and the big argument, between, "Jade" & "Shilpa" which is not unusual for Jade Goody and her other reality shows. This is very commonplace on reality shows.

Programmes like, "Jerry Springer" can get really wild with people arguing it out on the TV

I never said that you mentioned that she is a "racist". Just that many think that she is! I am very glad that is your opinion. it is nice to hear.

Sadly, due to the mass opinion of people, here in the UK and in India. The words, (Jade Goody) & (racist) are together in one sentance and that is so real for Jade Goody and the media love it.

If you don't like Jade Goody and can't understand that she has a firey personality and on reality shows, like Big Brother, it is more than likely that Jade Goody will get into a heated argument with someone.

But, this is what people like to see!

When Big Brother do interviews for future housemates on their show. They look through thousands of applicants.

They are looking right now.

When they do these interviews, they try to find people who have that special-something. They will then make a short list. I can't say how many or how few, as I don't know? But eventually, they will choose their housemates.

Jade Goody got picked and appeared on Big Brother, first time round and at that time, she also had arguments and heated discussions. But, from beyond that show, she has become very popular indeed. MEGA-POPULAR!! I am not over-estimating here.

She has come from nowhere. Not had an easy upbringing. Talks very fast and has a London cockney accent too.

The reason Jade was so popular after Big Brother was because she wasn't the stereotypical blonde glamour girl that always goes in. She made mistakes and said silly things and had her rough days. As for Jade not being good looking she is a lot better than she used to be and her haircut has made her look better and she always dresses to suit her figure.

The world of Jade Goody is the world that you and myself and others see on the TV screen and in the newspapers.

That is our only medium for judgement of her.

You stick yourself down on a comfy chair or setee. Witness this young girl, talking fast, cockney accent & very stupid sounding. Then, you see her mouthing off too.

All someone has to do, is to tell her to "eff off" or swear words to that effect! Jade Goody would start shouting and saying nasty things, but she will back down eventually.

It is true that Jade Goody has appeared on reality shows. Big Brother and a few others.

When, "Celebrity Big Brother 2007" came about. We were all looking forward to it. More exciting stuff!

She is somebody special.

You must understand that "safety" is paramount!

Jade Goody's edited footage has made many people believe that she is a raicst person. Also, the people that have most been offended are Indian people.

The (Big Brother 3) arguments and apparent bullying of "Sophie" was a joint venture.

She was NOT alone in these dislikes of the girl.

Sadly, I was on holiday, when the show was aired.

But I have examined the footage of the arguments, etc..

She puts self / career before anyone and anything else - no exceptions



Her PR trip was all about her children and the safety of herself and family.

India was where people were offended too.

It was a worthwhile trip. She needs to move mountains, which is impossible. But, she made a nice financial gesture and has done this to help the country, where many people have been offended by what Jade and the girls did.

Also, she is showing how, she alone is doing all of this, while the other two are doing very little.

JADE IS VERY BRAVE AND DESERVES MORE SUPPORT THAN WHAT SHE IS GETTING.

After she left the Big Brother house, she had interviews to do and even though she wanted to see her two boys immediately, the police wouldn't let her.

They were being looked after and were very safe.

Jade Goody had to do the interviews, as she was worried for her family's safety and Jade is NO expert on all of this anyway. (who is?)

She put's her family and her own self preservation before a career, anyday.

Do (You) want to be in her position? It's not ideal....
