View Full Version : Would a 29 December 2016 start date for CBB be viable?

Just thinking with CBB18 ending on 26 August 2016 and (for the first time since 2007) not having any sort of BBUK or CBB on in September a launch date around 29 December 2016 for CBB19 would be viable?.

I know it would NEVER happen but I'd love to see Big Brother on over Christmas and New Year. Perhaps a second civillian series that starts a month or so after the Summer CBB and ends a week or two before the following Winter CBB.

My perfect schedule for 2017-2018 in this instance would be something like.

CBB19: 29 December 2016 - 3 February 2017 (37 days)
BB18: 30 May 2017 - 1 August 2017 (64 days)
CBB20: 3 August 2017 - 1 September 2017 (30 days)
BB19: 19 October 2017 - 4 January 2018 (78 days)

Total of 209 days of Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother with:
CBB21: Starting on or around 18 January 2018

I don't think they'd be happy with being in there for new year or Christmas and I don't think any of us want 209 days of C5's Big Brother :worry:

What you're suggesting however isn't realistic enough. With such short gaps between series the production value of the House and the visual look of the show would be sent down the pan. You'd get virtually the same house for four series for example.

Keep it

12 week normal BB and 4 week CBB is what's needed

I cannot see a CBB held over the New Year period, so no.

Epic.

This.

Just imagine if cbb18 didn't happen. Then bb17 would've had been 81 days. This means you'd need three debuters I suppose after annhiliation week (American intruders Renee, Aubrey, Frankie maybe?) And then keep the rest of the series going. I'm sure this entire forum would've been thrilled to witness an entire guaranteed 81 episodes of Jayne Connery.

12 weeks is still long imo. 10 weeks is the perfect length for BB, 11 weeks if it's an amazing series like BB6. The 13 week series all dragged after Week 10/11 and that was back when the quality of the show was better than it is now.

And I think they should go back to having 3 weeks for CBB too. Ever since they've gradually extended it since the success of CBB13, it always ends up dragging and being a week longer than it should be (CBB15 and CBB17 in particular) and that's with 4 weeks yet alone 5. :omgno:

You would have to be a desperate celeb to spend your new years in the big brother house.

I think I preferred it when it was 10 weeks BBUK and CBB 3 weeks less is better :)
