I remember coming home at lunchtime on that way as I worked part time in a school at the time and seeing the second plane disappear live into the building. I thought it was a special affects movie at first until I listened to what they were saying on the news. A terrible sight.

Still remember being shocked at the towers actually collapsing. It was the last thing that I thought was going to happen. I still remember the wave of emotions I felt when the first one did

This will probably be one of my last posts on the forum. I still browse every other day or so (bad habbit. I've used this site to check on the news stories for 8 years now) but I just cant with some of the idiocy on the forum.

However, this is my first year back in America since 9/11 happened. Its unreal. I'm actually watching fox news as I couldnt find anything else which was talking about this. (the channels here are confusing)

but yes, I will never forget the day for as long as I live. I was in school in Maryland and we kept hearing peoples names in the intercom (theres one in every classroom). The principle would say 'can So and so come to the office for early dismissal'. I didnt feel well that day so after 20 kids got sent to the office, I asked the teacher if I could go to the nurse and she said yeah. My dad came to pick me up and then he got my sisters too. He told us something really bad had happened, but I didnt really understand it. I thought you'd be able to take people out of the rubble and that they were just lost in it all. I was 8, it just didnt make sense to me.

I remember being about 5 at the time and my Dad had picked me up from School.

I didn't really pay much attention to it at the time as you don't when you're at that age, but looking back on it that must've been not just a horrible moment for Americans, but a complete shock to the whole world that this terrorist group could just do that without no remorse whatsoever, and if they could do it to America then they could do it to your country.

However it's less about Al Quaeda nowadays and more about ISIS.

Yes Mock, a terrible thing to happen and as you mention there, some equally, if not more so,rotten from the core organisations about now to murder innocent people.

I've been in the twin towers several times, they were huge,if you took a picture of them you had to literally bend over backwards to actually get the top in ,if you were in the right spot,I cannot imagine the horror of that day,for people to actually jump from such a height must have been horrific,I have watched some footage today,it's still one of the saddest things I have ever seen, the memorial is beautiful and not forgetting those who died at the Pentagon and the plane that was brought down by the passengers to stop it hitting it's target,so many brave people who lost their lives that day .

I have been looking at videos today arista and one said that due to the masses of paper in the towers from the offices etc, that also helped to keep the flames burning that melted the metal, paper of all things.

Very very sad still, but so much has happened since then in terms of tragedy I can no longer put this above others. #neverforget sure but first of all we can't forget because they talk about it more than once a year and 2 there are also so many that we shouldn't forget.

RIP and thoughts/prayers to everyone affected by the attacks.

I'm watching "9/11: 102 Minutes That Changed America" now for the 100000th time and it gets me every single time. You watch it in horror but there's still this part of your brain that can't comprehend that it's actually true and real footage. Like it's as if you're seeing a disaster movie.

If anyone's not seen it I highly recommend. It's 102 minutes of amateur footage recording the whole event from right before the first plane hitting to the collapse of the second tower from different viewpoints in and around NYC (some on the street underneath, others a few blocks away in apartments, others across the river etc).

It's so terrifyingly powerful and makes you realise the scale of evil that can happen any day, anytime, anywhere to anyone.
