A survey was done on parents. And apparently just under 50% (about 48%) said they want the Cane brought back into schools.

What do you think? :shocked:

No way! Well, it's highly doubtful that it'll be re-introduced due to there being laws of child abuse and all that. Kids these days wouldn't stand for it either, we're becoming more and more loudmouthed and open, which has both its pros and cons.

I reckon the only reason under 50% of PARENTS said this however is because they just can't control their kids these days. :bored:

And also, you'd have to take into consideration 50% of exactly how many parents, what the source is, whether all these parents have come from a similar type of area (which can be assumed in some cases), as all of these would affect the statistic.

I just dont belive that the cane works. I was caned on more than one occasion when I was at school and it never stopped me from being a little toe rag! You are either going to follow the rules or you are not. I am a firm believer in positive re - enforcement and firm boundaries.

I agree with TB. The cheek teachers have to put up with in school nowadays its a joke imo, and all the chavs who are giving out the cheek and got hit, they would get hit right back.

LMAO! very true. I don't think kids of today have enough respect for teachers (most teachers arent worthy of respect though)so I dont think the cane would work, afterall they could just run out of the school, the teacher couldnt catch them, or stop them with the power of words, because the kids have no fear of adults anymore, or repercussions(mostly)
Sorry, but there are too many chavs having kids, they just send them out to play on the streets, because they dont have time for them, rather be boozing it up in the local pub. So there are now too many chav kids, neglected by their parents, looking for trouble anywhere and everywhere. Something needs to be done about chavs reproducing.
But anyway, nope I dont think the cane has a chance of working now, just think it would make tbings worse.

It'll stop people from misbehaving in the future (unless they enjoy bondage).
But it leaves a lot of room for abuse... and complaints, and meh - probably not a good idea afterall.

100% Agree. The area I live in is overrun with chavs (or neds as we call them), and they do just let their kids do whatever they want! A new generation of chav-juniors are growing up alongside my children. Now that's scary!

Yeah I remember my dad told me that his teacher use to hit him harder than other kids, coz he was the classroom smarty pants, and you know how teachers are like, so ...

i dont know I just think people where better back then, like with manners and kindness, i guess it was becuase of harsh punishment, but mankind has used punishment to improve themselves. I mean you cant stop parents from hitting their children, can you.
