Class is a YA series set in contemporary London. Incredible dangers are breaking through the walls of time and space, and with darkness coming, London is unprotected. I watched ep 1, I have to say I'm not sure about it yet. But then, I completely went off Doctor Who when Capaldi took over and haven't watched it since. I'll give it a chance but I don't see it overtaking Torchwood as my DW spin-off fav (and no way will it live up to Buffy). Kill of all the kids and let the whole thing be about Katherine Kelly pls.

(Only really started watching the show for the gays but ended up enjoying it)
Well that was...eventful?
Matteusz had a nice bulge during the bit where April was brutally murdering her parents I guess
I can't help but wonder how much influence Moffat has over this. The pace of the story is all over the place and things that should feel important aren't getting enough time to breath. Like I should give more of a **** that April's mum can apparently now walk again and the whole thing with the cabinet and Quill and Charlie seems to be focussed on vague details. I only understand all that a bit more because I paused it over the headteacher's file and read it :laugh:
Plus the Shadow Kin could be amazing but it all feels so rushed that they're not getting enough of a chance to really be developed as the terrifying villains I think they're intended to be.
Having said that, I really like the idea of the flesh eating petals; That bit in next weeks where they're eating people on the streets looks horrifying :worry:
Also, April's mum is a godawful actress but the writing for her was clunky as **** tbf

I get where they're coming from as they've basically got kids (like Sarah Jane) with the gore, more adult and realistic story lines (Torchwood)

I'm not entirely sure I trust Charlie either. There seems to be something quite dark about him. I also don't think Mattiez is going to make it till the end of the series

Yeah I'm still not really clear on exactly how Quill is Charlie's prisoner/slave/guardian whatever she is.
He keeps calling her a terroist but where exactly do the Shadow Kin come into play as to why their rivals on the same side?

Until that episode I was with you on that. The only reason I've been watching is for Katherine Kelly. But that episode...holy ****. My mouth feel open about seven hundred times and it was so well written and acted. Why the hell couldnt they all have been as good as that??

Yeah, when your plots need THAT much exposition it's time to go back to the drawing board IMO.
BBC America like the show, but it rated poorly over there as well, so chances of renewal this late (I mean, the show finished six months ago here) are practically non-existent

Yep, it's kinda weird, when Doctor Who, the more family orientated show does more complex things with a lot less explaining, lol. Such as the episode in the classroom, most people likely figured things out long before the characters started with the exposition, lol.

Most of the problems with the show could stem from Ness, so maybe someone else's take on the show would be a good thing? Idk
It's a shame it looks like it won't return. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. It could have done with a second series so the show could find its feet. I really liked the style of it. The show just needed to be stripped back a little and not cram in so much.
To be fair, the last episode made up for a fairly middling to pretty crap series. I want it to carry on purely to see what they had planned for the angels.

To be fair though, can you imagine the weeping angels being allowed to be scary in a post watershed show? I bet it would be amazing. Plus, that moment where the all the governors turned round so that the angel could move to kill the woman...I'd ha e faith that he could write them well.

Not completely terrible (although one episode came close) but not great either.
All leading to a giant cliffhanger that will never be resolved.

Hmm, I love the Whoniverse, so I doubt I'd find any entry terrible... I knew it was cancelled so I guessed it would probably never be resolved* so I can live with it ... may as well give it a go!
*What was the show in the 90s about the kid in a coma dreaming about another world, but at the end of a season soldiers came into the real world, but it was cancelled?
