Sam Allardyce used his position as England manager to negotiate a £400,000 deal and offered advice to businessmen on how to “get around” FA rules on player transfers, The Telegraph can disclose.

Before he had even held his first training session as England’s new head coach, Allardyce negotiated a deal with men purporting to represent a Far East firm that was hoping to profit from the Premier League’s billion-pound transfer market.

He agreed to travel to Singapore and Hong Kong as an ambassador and explained to the “businessmen” how they could circumvent Football Association rules which prohibit third parties “owning” players.

Unbeknown to Allardyce, the businessmen were undercover reporters and he was being filmed as part of a 10-month Telegraph investigation that separately unearthed widespread evidence of bribery and corruption in British football.

This isn't gonna end well for him, not sure he can keep his job as England manager now. Obviously he's involved himself in some pretty shady practices but its also all a bit of a stitch up and they try to involve him in even dodgier stuff in the video which he then slaps them down for.

Good to see Karen snogging her toy boy is front page news.

Idiot. He was implicated in the old investigation in 2006, if I recall, and now he's up to the same tricks. This may be too much and he may need to move on.

it just shows his only concern is about earning a buck. How can anyone expect the team to fight to win a game when the manager couldn't care less

He was there to be booked for a corporate. What he said was off the record and he was not acting for the FA or as the England manager

Dont be fooled this is a sting by the Telegraph to sell more copies to make yet more money for greedy owners and shareholders

And they are happy to do this to the detriment of the English national fooball team

I'm surprised he was so naive to blab like that to a total stranger especially in his position, I guess he had a few red wines under his belt

He looks very relaxed and possibly a bit pissed in the photo

He waited so long to get the job and now, no matter how well he does, he'll have this hanging over him.

Sad state of affairs that its come to this. 99% of people don't really give a toss about this but headlines are everything and many were predisposed to be against Allardyce in any case.

Be very interesting to see who's appointed now. If they go for Pardew then its a farce because everyone knows he is a dodgy character as well and no whiter than Big Sam. I can only see it being Brucey and we will have no more chance under him than we did with Roy

Fact he's used the word entrapment is most likely going to mean he won't be taking the helm at another club for some time. No acceptance of his own guilt it seems.
