Powerful Hurricane Matthew threatens Haiti
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-37537851

It's the strongest storm to hit Haiti since 1964 and it's the last thing they need, with hundreds of thousands still living in tents in the streets after the 2010 earthquake. Experts are predicting a catastrophic loss of life :(

Looking pretty likely it's going to affect Florida. This storm is has so many small land areas in it's path

Oh dear  Thanks for the education. Honestly had only ever heard the female ones, and the reason used tends to be 'females are more destructive' :umm2:

It's the voodoo he objects to.

Seriously, what a terrifying thing to experience.

On Berry Island south of Grand Bahama the weather station there recorded 927 mm of rain that`s over 36 inches if correct, highest rain rate 515 mm per hour.:omgno:

Highest sustained winds was 90 mph and Highest gust 101 mph

927mm of rain is roughly what Swansea gets in a whole year

Over 800 confirmed dead in Haiti and it's only set to rise as the clean up begins.

800! what an atrocity.

How can people be left to die like this is this day an age?

What was the evacuation plan?

So unnecessary.

...this is just so unthinkable for us who don't suffer extreme weather conditions..the loss of life/of homes, just devastating...it's all about food/sanitation/water/clothing/medication etc now and the aid/help that the people of Haiti need...
