Hiya guys and gals,

I'm doing my school year project on reality TV and the effects it has on people who watch these types of shows. As part of it I'm trying to get some ex-Big brother contestants to answer some questions. This is were i need your help, i have questions but can you give me any idea's for questions that you think would be good to ask. Below is the list of questions i have so far, id appreciate if you told weather or not they were okay. Also, if you want to answer the questions yourself id be grateful because it would be nice to get the view of some big reality TV fans.

Do you think reality TV has gone to far?
To what extents do you think members of the public would go to get on a reality TV show, like Big Brother?
Do you think that its all about the 'fifteen minutes' of fame?
What did you get out of your experience?
Do you think people are getting tired of reality TV shows like Big Brother?

Thanks

Do you think reality TV has gone to far?. Not in the ul no but in places where they throw people off cliffs and other programmes in america etc i think they have gone too far
To what extents do you think members of the public would go to get on a reality TV show, like Big Brother?. Sudden changes of personality in the auditions like be allwacky then when in the house they are boring i rather they were true to themselves
Do you think that its all about the 'fifteen minutes' of fame?. Now I think yes but in BB1/2/3 no
What did you get out of your experience?. Nothing i guess thats to the BB people
Do you think people are getting tired of reality TV shows like Big Brother. No because people are still watching it and the forums are getting bigger every series and more busier

I don't think it's gone too far necessarily but possibly TV companies are relying on the reality format too much these days. Too many dancing and singing shows now I'd say. ITV rely on it too much.

I doubt most members of the public would go on Big Brother, just the select few.

Yeah, though they probably think it will be longer than 'fifteen minutes' and they are destined for great things. A lot of people look up to celebrities in magazines and think that is the ideal lifestyle. That is probably behind it.

Never been on a reality show. :conf2:

If there is too many of them, as I said before, yeah. Possibly need to involve more types of people, rather than the wannabe type. There needs to be a greater cross-section of society on them.

1. Do you think reality TV has gone to far?

In some respects yes. When you look at reality TV chat shows like Jerry Springer, I think it is disgusting that people go on tv to air their dirty laundary in public. To go on one of those shows and tell your boyfriend of 2 years that you are really a transexual etc is just plain sick. BB is ok though, in my opinion, as it is just normal people all thrown in a house together for observation.

2. To what extents do you think members of the public would go to get on a reality TV show, like Big Brother?

I think some people are so desperate to get on, they would do anything to an extent. Including sleeping with people to get there.

3. Do you think that its all about the 'fifteen minutes' of fame?

Definitely. In the celberity obsessed society we live in, a lot of people just want to be famous. Socialites are famous nowadays for absolutely nothing at all.

4. What did you get out of your experience?

5. Do you think people are getting tired of reality TV shows like Big Brother?

Definitely. The novelty is waring off, and this has been reflected in the viewing figures for CBB5 (pre Jade/Danielle/Jo/Shilpa ding dong).

Hope this helps!

Thanks

Do you think reality TV has gone to far?

Absolutely. I think TV companies rely on them too much because they're cheap TV. Fictional dramas and comedies are notorious for costing alot of monmey. I think TV companies should take a big chunk ut of he soap budget and put that into fictional dramatic programming.

To what extents do you think members of the public would go to get on a reality TV show, like Big Brother?

Most are wannabes and have tried out two or three times.

Do you think that its all about the 'fifteen minutes' of fame?

Not so much anymore. I don't there are the opportunities for reality TV stars like there have been in the past.

What did you get out of your experience?

Never been on one. I'd love to go on big Brother but I'm too chicken. I reckon I'd do quite well on BB. I don't think I'd win it but I think I'd be in the mix. I've got tactics that I think would get me down to the wire.

Do you think people are getting tired of reality TV shows like Big Brother?

Yes, but there are not many alternatives.

Nope, its not for any subject in school. We can do a project on anything we want. I choose to do it on reality tV because, as sad as it is, it something i know a lot about but would like to know more on.
