Brooks Way AXED from the first show (and they're not coming back)

If the Daily Star is to be believed:

TWIN brothers Brooks Way have sensationally been axed from tonight's X Factor just hours before the first live show airs.

The 17-year-old duo were left in floods of tears after being told they were being removed from the hit ITV pending an investigation.

It is yet unclear whether the heartbroken act, from Penarth, Wales, will be allowed to rejoin next week.

Details surrounding the decision are still unclear.

But X Factor sources claim it relates to Josh, who has already hit the headlines for allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend Amelia Clarke at a New Year's Eve party last year, which he denies.

Panic stricken X Factor bosses called a crisis meeting before deciding to suspend both of them.

All the other contestants have now been told.

The brothers had already rehearsed their version of DNCE's Cake By The Ocean this morning.

They were just about to perform their final dress rehearsal when they were told the news around 3pm this afternoon.

Both brothers have since been removed from the X Factor's £3.6 million contestant mansion and checked into a near-by hotel.

Our X Factor source said: "Everyone is in total shock and no one can quite believe it.

"New information came to light early this afternoon and as a result bosses felt they had no choice but to suspend Brooks Way until further investigation.

"Not only are the brothers heartbroken and in tears but all the contestants are totally devastated."

11 acts will perform tonight with one of them getting the boot in tomorrow night's show as normal.

Mentor Louis Walsh was also said to be devastated after getting close to the boyband, who he believed could win the show.

An X Factor spokesperson confirmed Brooks Way would not be appearing on tonight's show due to "Unforeseen circumstance."

That story is quite a damning indictment if I ever saw one, though I did some searching on Twitter last night and it turns out (amongst their rabid fans making apologies for domestic violence) that she was ~apparently~ quite controlling, didn't want him going out or hugging fans, posted explicit photos of him on social media, threatened to kill herself if they split up, etc etc - so it seems it was a bit of an abusive relationship all round. I'm not sure how they can shy away from something like this though, it's a pretty serious allegation.

It's worth pointing out that if they are removed then unless the producers want two acts in the final for the first time in ten years then mathematically speaking someone will have to return, my guess would be Yes Lad although I'd prefer Four of Diamonds.

They've left by 'mutual consent'. Here's the official statement:

Brooks Way leave The X Factor by mutual consent

Brooks Way will no longer be taking part in The X Factor Live Shows.

After being absent from Saturday night’s first Live Show of 2016, Brooks Way and producers of The X Factor have decided by mutual consent that the group will leave the competition.

In a statement, Josh Brooks said: "Due to events in my personal life I've decided that it's best not to be on the show at this time. While not everything that has been claimed is true I would like to apologise to everyone involved."

An X Factor spokesman added: "Following the allegations relating to Josh Brooks, we have decided by mutual consent that Brooks Way should leave the competition."

Details of their replacement will be announced in due course.

They should never have been put through. There was no balance in an all male lot of groups. 4 of Diamonds outsang every single group. Louis and the two girls were mad about them and then he put that stupid joke act through. I am most annoyed as the producers should go through every contestants past with a fine tooth comb and if there is a WHIFF that something is going to come out about them they shouldnt get the place of another more deserving act. My first time on X factor forums :)
