View Full Version : Does anyone else experience this?

Whenever I write with a pencil I get chills all over my body (and I do not mean this in a good way).

I don't know why, I've experienced it since I was very young. Especially when the pencil is not sharp.

The feeling is atrocious and I don't think you can understand what I mean if it has never happened to you. Even thinking about it makes me feel awful.

I remember having a hard time in primary school because students were (and still are) only allowed to use a pencil in that age.

That's the reason I hate pencils and I never use one anymore.

So does anyone else experience this? Or am I a freak?

I went to school with a boy who used to chew his pencils and one time he accidentally stabbed himself on the inside of his cheek with one and got lead poisoning. I didn't like him much so I'm Team Pencil tbh

I guess it's similar to the nails on chalkboard thing that makes people cringe, neither of them bother me personally though.

No, I haven't experienced this, or heard about it until now, but it certainly is weird.

Perhaps it's akin to the phobia some people have of chalk being used across a blackboard?

I know that pencil lead on paper is not as audible as chalk on a blackboard, but perhaps your brain is 'filling in the blanks' subconsciously and you are involuntarily reacting as a reflex action?

 Great minds Caprimint - you posted this whilst I was typing a similar response.

What if a stunning woman turned up at your door begging for some serious 'love-making' and she was dressed all in velvet? :hee:

You're a freak :)

Pencils don't use lead, they use graphite? And even if they did it would take an awful lot of lead to get poisoning from it? :suspect:

Hmm I could be wrong then (although I'm sure that's what we were told)... it could have been a ploy to stop us from eating our pencils I suppose. Either way he was injured so I'm still Team Pencil!
