Is this BCG?
Or Polio?
Anyway, seriously - the worst part is worrying about them. They always last a second and then you always think "Er... is that it?" cos you've worked yourself up too much.

I had them last year I think, and I've got some more coming up really soon!
I wouldn't worry about them at all really. I mean, I don't mind them personally, but if you are scared I can honestly say the actual needles and going through the process is really quick and doesn't hurt. There is a slight possibility it might hurt afterwards for a bit but that's about it. So you should be fine!

Yea. Schools are evil, they tend to do that. I think I have an injection in school in a few weeks, don't know what for though!
Yea I have 6 tiny dots (that doesn't hurt, it's like a stapler going into your skin) and a lump on my arm, it still hurts sometimes, if someone hits it.

The BCG didn't hurt much. The after pain was horrid though
I give blood every 4 months, that hurts more.

BCG hurts when they inject you can feel the needle going in and the pain is BAD after you leave the room.

As I can remember..... and its been a while since I had it, it didnt hurt. The 6 needle test is easy and the BCG itself just feels a bit uncomfortable. Its afterwards that your arms aches a little. But the build up is far worse in my opinion. Mind you I did almost faint but not due to the pain.

The main thing about BGC is not picking the scab that forms afterwards. if you do then you will be left with a scar

I got my BCG last year and another one, i don't think it hurt too much because i'd have remembered it.
It's wierd you've started this thread, i had my flu jab today. I am getting my Yellow Fever vacination/needle on Thursday. I am getting my Hepatitis, Typhoid and Malaria soon too for Kenya... i hope they don't hurt. I'm a baby when it comes to needles.

Thats the one im talking about - The 6 needles one, well no, not that one. wait i've just confuesed myself. Ok start again:
(I dont actually know what BCG or whatever it is, is).
The one we are heaving is the booster which you have after 6 needles - they are sort of skipping the 6 needles and just doing the big one.
Is that what BCG is?

Right i've found out what it is for:
Tetnus - Breathing problems, muscle spasms. Can Kill!
Diphtheria - breathing problems and damages the nervous system. Can Kill!
Polio - Attacks the nervous system, paralysis or muscles and effects the brain. Can Kill!
Thats what my injection is for. So i have no idea what BCG is! lol

I had the Polio/Diptheria/Tetanus one last year at school.
And then just last week I had Hep A/Typhoid jab because I'm going abroad in the summer to places where I may be exposed to those, so I needed it. It hurt a bit when it went in but not much at all, and I was told I might experience some aching after. Some of my friends did quite a lot, but luckily for me I didn't experience any pain after!

Good luck.
And yeah I did. I was called in to have it with my friend, and he was really really scared, but I had a note saying I had already had it done. Then as we entered, he got his sheet and walked over, but I showed the nurse my note and she said "Oh, you had it done over 10 years ago" and I was like "Yeah..." and then she said that if I want I needed a new one, and that I should really have it. So I didn't know what to do. Then she called my mum up, but no one answered. So I sat down and watched others get it done, and went all funny. So she took me outside and we had a chat. I told her I was really nervous, and she was convincing me it wouldn't hurt.
So then I went outside for some air, and came back in. She then asked me if I wanted some water, so we went back in the hall and took me to the fountain. But next to the fountain were these chairs where the people who had just had it done sat. Sitting there was my friend and this boy. So she was getting me some water, when I noticed the boy was lying down. Then he started shaking and fell on the floor, and the nurses were all rushing to him. He had fainted. So I was like "Naw, I'm not gonna go through that" it was really bad timing. So they said to come back after my next lesson.
I came back to the hall, and it was empty, just a few nurses were there. And they were like "Just sit down, and we'll do this". I sat down, and she started asking me questions about my health etc... Then she said for me to tell her "I'm ready" but I was telling her I wasn't. And I looked away like "Jesus christ I can't do this". And she said "done". I was like "Huh?" and she told me she had done it. I was so shocked, I didn't even feel it. All that for nothing.

So I was like "Naw, I'm not going to go through that" it was really bad timing.
WOW! I think it's normal to be scared, at least the nurse helped you, my school nurse is a nasty bitch! I bet your glad it's all over! Is it true that your whole arm goes numb after? A few people in my year had allergic reactions, is that boy ok?

You had it, didn't you!!!! I was looking at my 'injection records' and Iv'e had it four times as a baby.
I have it tomorrow.

Good (that the the boy is ok).I don't really mind my arm going numb. I'll just make sure that I get it done on my right side (I write with) so I don't have to write!:spin2:
