I keep meaning to look into going to the experience in London (where this was filmed) but haven't yet got round to it. I've heard it's really good though

It's a shame they had to reboot this with a celebrity special but hey that's our obsessive culture  I'll watch it, hopefully it gets a respectable enough figure so they can commission a series

I think the team are banking on a commission if this rates well (similar to how TFI got a series after the anniversary special) - they're opening another experience in Manchester (http://the-crystal-maze.com/crystal-maze-open-manchester/) next year at one of the old Granada studios, so they'll definitely have the venue to film a series. That being said, Stephen has said that he's not sure (http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/news/a811083/crystal-maze-special-presenter-stephen-merchant-rules-out-full-series/) about hosting a full series, so they'd have to find a new host (or get Richard back) if he's not on board with the idea.

Looking forward to watching this, such a classic show

I bought myself a ticket when they were crowdfunding for it and I still haven't been lmao. I don't know anybody who'd wanna go </3

Richard will always be missed tho

I thought Ed Tudor Pole was pretty good when he took over from Richard. Problem was he suffered from David Moyes syndrome where he never got the respect he deserved because his predecessor was so amazing.

They ruined the theme

Why do TV show revivals insist on doing that?

Me and my brothers would probably be the only ones interested  I know no one in real life who watched it

Ed was fine, but he had nothing on Richard

Why do TV show revivals insist on doing that?

Probably to ~modernise~ it or some crap but most of the time the original hasn't aged at all

It was alright for nostalgia reasons, I'm not sure Stephen is the right fit as host though so I'm glad he's said he couldn't commit to a full series

I did however enjoy his near the knuckle Radio 1 joke :laugh2:

Merchant was awful. Hope they do a full series and get somebody else.

Yeah it was good for nostalgia purposes, but apart from that meh? Not really must-see.

The set and dome isn't remotely as impressive as the original.

3.1 million in the ratings last night - very respectable. I should think that Channel 4 are looking into a series.

Enjoyed it a little but only so much as it is humanly possible to enjoy anything containing Josh ****ing Widdicombe  cannot stand that unfunny arse.

Would like a revival but without Stephen obviously. But then he'd be a hell of a lot better than most go-to presenters.
