Video is here:

http://www.lbc.co.uk/news/london/east/tower-hamlets/mcdonalds-employees-brawl-with-racist/

This is the video of men in McDonald's uniforms brawling with a man they allege made racist comments.

The video which was handed to The Sun newspaper, shows men fighting outside a branch of the restaurant in Bow.

The person who filmed the video told The Sun, who broke the story : “I was heading to McDonald’s for some food with friends when we saw a man shouting at staff inside.”

“The customer was being very abusive and shouted ‘********** P**is’ at the workers, who were doing their best to calm him down.

“A couple of workers came from behind the counter and joined another one and started to push him out.

Do you agree that all involved should be up in court and prosecuted?

Why are the workers involved facing Disciplinary Action by McDonald's? On the evidence available, it seems they were within their rights to get the abusive racist idiot out of there.

If I'm honest, had I been one of those abused, I'd have done some serious damage to the ignorant bastard.

I'm confused LT - the video on your link did not work for me, so I was going on the write up and stills. Did they start it or give him a beating?

Thanks Adam. Maybe they should have called the police instead then.

They literally were kicking him when on the ground, I doubt you will find that encouraged in the dealing with abusive customers manual. Not sure why they didn't just call the police and have him removed and cautioned, now they are in more trouble than he is

I can understand their frustration, although the fact is he was off the premises and therefore no longer a threat to them or other customers. To assault him outside is not warranted.

This could have easily been resolved with a few happy meals.

They went too far.Kicking him out is fair enough but the punch and kicks were unnecessary

So the man being attacked is being labelled a racist, because the men who physically attacked him, said so?

That's retail sadly, Kirkles. You can't touch a member of the public aggressively (or officially, at all) unless it is purely in self defence (being in physical danger). It'll be in their contracts under gross misconduct, they could probably be fired on the spot for it if the company wanted to. If it says "disciplinary action" to be honest it probably means being told "contract says you shouldn't have done that wink wink" and a slap on the wrist.

There are Disciplinaries and then there are "disciplinaries"... the latter being the type where both manager and employee struggle to keep a straight face while some official-line BS is gone through and everyone signs a piece of paper to say that "things got said".
