Islamophobia and immigration, all the Express needed was to somehow link this case to 100 days of subzero temperatures this winter and they would have achieved the Holy Trinity

Seems a bit extreme of a sentence... there was no threat to anyone's life...and it wasn't premeditated or an ongoing attack. I feel like they are being made an example of given the socio climate in your country... but having followed hate crime trials here in the Canadian judicial system before, I don't think such a severe sentence would have occurred here

It must be TRULY killing some anti-British British people in the UK today, that this act was committed by two of their BELOVED immigrants against their beloved Muslims, and NOT by two white indigenous Brits.

Will this include then those 'Hate Crimes' perpetrated by baying, snarling Muslim extremists who screamed 'baby killers' and 'rapists' at soldiers from 2nd Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment parading through Luton after a tour of duty in Iraq.
Or those Hate Crimes committed by the baying, snarling Muslim Extremists calling themselves; 'Muslims Against the Crusades', who physically assaulted onlookers and screamed obscenities and SPAT upon British Soldiers at another British Soldiers Homecoming Parade in Barking Essex.
Or the Hate Crimes committed by Islamic Fanatics who burnt a giant poppy whilst screaming; "British Soldiers Burn In Hell" and other obscenities ON REMEMBRANCE DAY during the two minutes silence to HONOUR our fallen War Dead?

You need to go see a head doctor love. I never MENTIONED you. I never INTIMATED you.
I think a HUGE clue can be gleaned that I was NOT referring to you, by the very first part of my sentence which I have emboldened and reproduced below:
"It must be TRULY killing some anti-British British people in the UK today..."
So you see, I was referring to SOME people in the UK in general, and not YOU on this tiny forum.
Think MACRO not MICRO and think about a WORLD which revolves around the SUN and not a FORUM which you think revolves around YOU.
Incidentally, I do not understand why you keep PREACHING the obvious to me, such as:
"Hate laws are there for everybody..."
When I HAVE NEVER SAID OTHERWISE - ANYWHERE ????
There is also no need for your derogatory sarcastic little comment:
"...not just for who you deem worthy.]"
Because I have not written anywhere anything about "who" I "deem worthy" or otherwise.
I have NEVER broached the subject, but that does not stop you from employing the tactics of 'Repeated Falsehoods' in your attempt to persuade others that I have indeed SAID all these non-existent things you keep needlessly responding to.
Why don't you just stick to the topic and forget about me for once.

why do you think 8 months in jail is suitable?
A hate crime which caused no(?) physical damage to property or people but there was a clear intent of emotional abuse and racial hatred. 8 months seems appropriate in this case to me.
Do you disagree with the penalty, I've not read through the thread yet. Do you think the penalty should be more or less severe?

No not all lawbreakers go to jail,
The deputy leader of Britain First has been found guilty of religiously aggravated harassment afer she hurled abuse at a Muslim woman wearing a hijab.
Jayda Fransen, 30, was fined nearly £2,000 for wearing a political uniform and shouting at Sumayyah Sharpe during a "Christian patrol" of Bury Park in Luton, on Saturday 23 January.

I mean, thats not the point though is it? Comparing any crime to a lenient sentence.. or a harsh sentence. Its not like me posting a link to a guy who got ten years for illegally downloading music will change perceptions on this news story, because its not remotely relevant.
A hate crime was commited and 8 months seems reasonable, comparing it to lenient or harsh sentences from the past shouldnt change the context.

(but tbh they could have been pissed up brits)
...I know it's a serious thing but it did make me smile reading they were tracked down by the police finding empty bacon packets in their possession...yeah the sentencing seems very harsh and feels like a 'making example of sentencing' possibly...lots of Polish people have also been subjected to 'hate' and prejudice so it's sad that the same has been done by a few to others who have also been subjected to the same thing../that there wasn't more of an understanding rather than an intolerance...a community service type sentencing would have been more the thing as well...a harsh sentencing will only I think instil more negative feelings...well it has already if they've been attacked by Muslims in prison...

No - there's no question that the two Polish immigrants are bang out of order and that the Mosque and its faithful are the victims. No question at all.
It's like when the leftie nut jobs had to choose between Islam and women, when the Rotherham rape scandal came about, they chose Islam with no hesitation.
And then when the Orlando massacre happened, they had to choose between Islam and the gays, they didn't even bat an eyelid when they abandoned the gays.
I don't mean any of this, but just showing you Dezzy's logic.
