I feel like they are being made an example of given the socio climate in your country... but having followed hate crime trials here in the Canadian judicial system before, I don't think such a severe sentence would have occurred here

When asked how his injury happened he said in broken English:

...I know it's a serious thing but it did make me smile reading they were tracked down by the police finding empty bacon packets in their possession...yeah the sentencing seems very harsh and feels like a 'making example of sentencing' possibly...lots of Polish people have also been subjected to 'hate' and prejudice so it's sad that the same has been done by a few to others who have also been subjected to the same thing../that there wasn't more of an understanding rather than an intolerance...a community service type sentencing would have been more the thing as well...a harsh sentencing will only I think instil more negative feelings...well it has already if they've been attacked by Muslims in prison...
