Andy Murray wins.

But Mo Farrah should be the winner, his achievements are far more historic.

Leicester City will win the team of the year, beating the Olympic teams and Wales football team.

And I'd imagine Claudio Ranieri will win the coach of the year.

I don't know who will take the overseas personality of the year, but I'd say Usain Bolt will be in with a chance of that.

Boring that Andy has this wrapped up already, especially in an Olympic year

The hockey girls should win Team of the Year but they won't

Top 3 will be Murray obviously winning, Brownlee because the VT will have huge focus on him helping out Jonny and the sibling love arc will get the casual viewer going 'nawww what a lovely lad' and help him get top 3 and then any of Laura, Vardy, Mo or Jason.

Although I wouldn't rule out Nick Skelton top 3 placing for finally achieving his dream, similar to Jo Pavey getting top 3 in 2014.

King Max needs a top 3 spot

Laura Kenny is my winner or the Female Hockey Team

James

I would definitely give the team award to Leicester. The Olympic team is not a proper sporting team, as I understand it - just a collection of people competing in different sports. It's a cop-out to give the team award to them. It should go to a proper team-sport team.

I'd vote for Brownlee or Trott tbh.

Is there a separate award for disabled athletes? Edit: guess not, Kadeena, Sarah and Sophie are there.

How is Anthony Joshua not nominated? He done more in boxing than Nicola Adams for example.

Why the **** hasn't Murray been on yet?! They should've had him on first, he's already at a huge advantage without stacking it further by opening the vote at the end

The lines should open from the start

I'd love Kate or Laura to win but it's between Mo Farah and Andy Murray isn't it?

I mean they would deserve it but they get so much attention anyway

Headie
18-12-2016, 08:48 PM
Hopefully Mo wins since for some reason he never does well in SPOTY and he deserves it at least once in his career

Kadeena Cox should be the winner tho, how many people can say they've won individual Gold medals in two different sports

That would give the nominees shown at the start an advantage.

I know it's not the best comparison but people said that when they started doing it on X Factor and it didn't, it actually reversed the advantage that the pimp slot used to hold.

In theory it levels the vote out because as someone's VT is played, they'll get a bunch of votes thrown their way. Rather than the last few people shown being fresh in people's memories

When you have the oldest gold medalist finishing 3 or phenomal athletes like Brown Lee who puts his body on the line but gets no exposure because it's not a mainstream sport someone else deserved a chance

Tennis rankings are a joke though really. He won won Grand Slam all year.

Gets creamed in Fance,Australia and USA and still wins :joker:

He made the final of Australia and France though, ofc he was going to win it on Wimbledon, Olympics and becoming #1 success.

It was an inevitable win and the whole 'BLEH WHAT PERSONALITY' jibes are tedious.

Poor Danny only getting 2000 votes </3
