Adele and Sam Smith are just two of the huge names to have won the Brits Critics' Choice Award in the past - and now the three shortlisted acts for 2017's award have been announced.

Anne-Marie, Dua Lipa and Rag'n'Bone Man are the names in line to take home the prestigious prize, with the winner revealed next Thursday (December 8). They'll be the first act to get their hands on the new futuristic statue designed by the late Zaha Hadid, too.

The award for up-and-coming artists has been around since 2008, and with previous victors including Emeli Sandé, Ellie Goulding and Florence + the Machine, as well as Adele and Sam Smith, it sure has a good record of predicting who's going to storm the charts and make a huge impact globally.

2017 will mark the 10th Critics' Choice winner. The past winners are:

2008 - Adele

2009 - Florence + the Machine

2010 - Ellie Goulding

2011 - Jessie J

2012 - Emeli Sandé

2013 - Tom Odell

2014 - Sam Smith

2015 - James Bay

2016 - Jack Garratt
