Okay so this is a show that has been around for over a year now but not many people know about. It airs on The CW in the US and all episodes are available on Netflix. It's so good, it's a romantic-comedy-musical starring Rachel Bloom (who won a Golden Globe) and essentially follows her character, Rebecca Bunch, as she moves to West Covina, California after finding out her childhood crush Josh Chan lives there.

It's so, so, so good and is acclaimed on Rotten Tomatoes

I watch this and at first I wasn't sure but love the musical numbers and I agree Paula is my fave character. I think s1 is better but s2 is good as well

The musical aspect isn't too overpowering, there's normally only 3-4 songs and they tell the story quite well

They're normally dream sequences so they don't normally just burst into song

I've a feeling that this is the final season (I've seen at least two new shows that members of the CXG team are behind announced recently, plus it's frankly a miracle that it got more than one season to begin with) but if they manage to tie everything together then what a high to end on

I agree that some of the episodes in the second half haven't been as good as the first half (the one where Rebecca randomly sued Nathaniel in particular), but I thought the time jump worked really well and this week's ep made me scream

I wasn't confident that it would be at the beginning of the season, but since then I learned more about how the network system works and how generous The CW are, so I figured this would probaby, and thankfully, happen

And the cast can celebrate together, seeing as they're in the middle of the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend national tour (yep, that's a thing)
