From The Sun
JOSS STONE has been having a pretty good stab at ruining her pop career before she leaves her teens.
She left for America a few years ago as an innocent Devon schoolgirl — and returned a crazed Yankee diva with a dodgy red perm.
Her Brits appearance made her a national laughing stock and now it looks like her meteoric fall from grace will be complete this weekend when she fails to make the Top Ten of the album charts.
Her third album, Introducing Joss Stone, should have been called Exit Joss Stone — because British fans have shown her the door.
After a string of PR disasters the LP is at No12 in the midweek charts, and it’s being tonked by some of the, er, “giants” of music.
X Factor loser BEN MILLS, for example, has sold nearly twice as many copies with his album Picture Of You.
The talent show’s latest runner-up, RAY QUINN, is at the top of the chart, outselling Joss by almost four copies to one with his debut.
Most embarrassing for Joss is that another annoying curly redhead looks set for the Top Ten.
That’s right, SIMPLY RED’s new album Stay is stuffing Joss’s effort too.
When you lose to MICK HUCKNALL in a popularity contest you know it’s time to pack your bags.
Joss’s first album made No4 in the charts and her second was a No1 smash.
I would have tipped Ray to get this weekend’s top spot with the X Factor juggernaut behind him, but surely Joss would have expected a Top Three place at least.
