DANIELLE Armstrong is the latest Towie star to sign up for Celebrity Big Brother.
The reality favourite quit the ITVBe show at the end of the last series after three years.
Despite sources close to the star hinting her decision to leave was based on her struggle getting over longterm boyfriend and co-star James Lock, her actual reason appears to be more career-focused.
She will become the sixth Towie castmember to appear on the Channel 5 show following Gemma Collins, Mario Falcone, Lauren Goodger, Sam Faiers and Amy Childs.
A BB source said: “Danielle has a big personality and would be a great asset to the house.
“She’s looking to branch out now her Towie days are over and sees CBB as a great way to do this.
“Her fellow Towie stars have managed to get their own shows out their stint in the house – she wants to do likewise.”
Danielle, 28, has recently gone public with new footballer boyfriend Daniel Spiller and were recently spotted holding hands on a night out.
Her rocky relationship with James ‘Lockie’ Lock has been a constant storyline since she made her first appearance on the Essex-based reality show in 2013.
Their regular rows and fallouts ensured they received plenty of airtime.
James, who is still single, recently admitted he was still hopeful they could get back together.
He said: “As much as I’d love to be with Danielle in an ideal world, I can’t be with her. I’d never say never but at the minute it’s not happening.”
Other names expected to appear in the Gold Stars v All Stars series, which starts in January, include newcomers Bianca Gascoigne and Keeping Up With Kardashians star Malika Haqq, alongside CBB legends including Lee Ryan and Perez Hilton.
Danielle’s new boyfriend Danielle is a multi-millionaire who works as an independent distributor at Herbalife International.
A source exclusively tells The Sun Online: “Danielle is really keen on Daniel.
“He’s a real catch and they get on really well.
“Leaving Towie was hard but she wants to focus on moving on with her life and she wants Daniel to be a part of that.”
They added: “Now she won’t have to see James as much and he won’t know everything that’s going on in her life – it feels really refreshing for her.”
Until recently the pair had kept their dates low key and worked hard not to be pictured together.
