Why hello! :wavey:

On my new PC I have no graphics software, so I'm looking to buy some... however.... I'm not really sure the difference between Photoshop and Paintshop Pro.

Can anyone shed some light for me please? I'd mainly be using it for website type graphics.

Thanks

Well I use Photoshop Elements 2 because it came on this laptop and generally I found it more complicated to use (using layers and so on) than what I was using previously, Microsoft Photodraw - also Irfanview and Photo Editor for simple non-drawing stuff.

But Photoshop is more versatile, and works better, than Photodraw but I don't use PSP so I'm not that much help here really.

PSP is much cheaper though that full-Photoshop and I have read reviews which says they are both equally good for web-based graphics but Photoshop is better for print graphics. Macromedia Fireworks is another option.

I use both, and I'd say PSP is better. Both basically do the same functions I just find that I prefer using PSP.

I tried Macromedia Fireworks for a while too, (I must have a lot of money for all these apps ) but found it a bit weird - so I stick to PSP, occasionally using PS as it usually has better downloadable brushes.

I have used both but like PSP best for banner and website type graphics. Photoshop is more professional though. I don't see the point in the latest versions of PSP however..because I find the old versions better and quicker. I have tried other programs too but always find myself going back to PSP when I need to make something.

I've used PSP and Photoshop.

If you are use PSP, it will take you a while to like Photoshop.

Photoshop will give you more effects and more professional images.

theres no point learning any other software than Photoshop, everyone uses it, theres more effects and all the companies, uni's and colleges use it. Photoshop is best.
