I'm looking forward to see what changes ITV have made. I always found The Voice quite boring on the BBC so hopefully it'll get a new lease of life on ITV.

I don't watch The X Factor, The Voice is actually one of the very few reality TV shows I watch anymore tbh, probably the only one at all. I haven't even watched the last 2 BB/CBBs

I'm willing to give it a chance to see if it's anymore entertaining than it was on the BBC, and if they're finally going to do more than three measly live shows - but I doubt it

I can see them adopting the USA version.

You can tell they mean business when they sign up Jenifer Hudson

Yeah actually that is something that I didn't like about it. I don't want them to turn it into X Factor the second though :(

Meh, The Voice USA is superior.

It'll be very interesting to see how ITV try to position this in that respect, given it is starting so soon after X Factor too. Do they try to keep a distinction between the two - The Voice as the 'serious', bonafide singing competition, and XF as a more 'fun', drama-laden primetime entertainment show? Or bring elements of X Factor over to The Voice - joke acts, bickering coaches, more dramatic etc?

My guess would be they're going to try and keep them as separate as possible.

The problem I always had with it before was that the prerecorded rounds dragged on far too long, and once the gimmick of the Blinds is over, the rest of the rounds are really not all that interesting or distinctive enough. The superiority complex and all round love-in atmosphere got tiresome too.

It's like in our country where the voice and XF are on the same channel. It's horrible.

They need to adapt the USA format to it imo.

Blind auditions
Battles
Knockouts
Playoffs (public vote for their top 12, top 2 from each team go through and the coach chooses the last one)
Top 12
Top 11
Top 10
Top 8 (bloodbath week)
Top 4 (finale)

Works really well. Keeps all of the coaches in as long as possible without doing the ridiculous thing of eliminating one from each team every week :umm2: And allowing more contestants to stay in longer and ultimately getting more exposure (also bloodbath week is the most crucial/exciting/fun of them all).

I really enjoy the battles but i would definitly sacriface the knock outs for more live shows and i prefer the judges getting on when they dont it becomes all about them instead of the acts
