Celebrity Big Brother live feed has disappeared from 5STAR ahead of January’s ‘All Stars/New Stars’ series – after the last run attracted controversy over an allegedly ‘staged’ scene.
For the last three series of CBB, Channel 5 aired an hour of live feed every weeknight at around midnight on the digital channel.
However, only two post-eviction instalments of ‘Live From The House’ are in the final schedules for the first two weeks of the new series – at 00.05am on C5 on Tuesday 3rd and Tuesday 10th January 2017.
This effectively means that bosses have axed the 5STAR feed. bbspy approached C5 for confirmation, but did not receive a response.
The move is likely to anger fans of the show, as it means producers will now be even less accountable after they were accused of staging a scene.
During the last series of CBB in August, a live broadcast appeared to show the housemates acting out a sequence, as they all went to bed at the same time – before getting up and continuing as normal moments later.
Viewers were outraged, as Big Brother is built on the principle that contestants’ behaviour isn’t set up – but C5 denied accusations that the show is scripted.
It is not known whether this scandal is the reason for the reduction in live feed.
The lack of a 24-hour live feed – a staple feature of the Big Brother format – remains a contentious issue among die-hard BBUK fans.
It remains integral to international versions of the show – such as Big Brother USA, which this year aired its first ever online-only season almost exclusively via live streaming.

Laughable that they've done this in response to the highlights staging being exposed. Hooray for more cover ups and less transparency!
