I forgot to mention this. During Comic Relief last night, when viewers had to swicth from BBC One to BBC Two at 10.00pm, I saw a Doctor Who Advert!
The screen was first split in half, with the Doctor on the left and the new assistant on the right. Then, the screen turned black, the Tardis music went on, and words appeared:

Two Worlds Will Collide

It was awesome. I just can't wait!!! :cheer2:

Yea! It's like a 10 minutes drive away from my house! I had to go there yesterday to drop my sister off for her scan. It's really wierd seeing it on telly. Looked tiny on the moon!

I think it's repeated at 7:00pm tonight on BBC2.. not sure though.

Sophii3x
01-04-2007, 05:56 PM

Dr Who series is ratings hit
The new series of Doctor Who has proved a ratings hit after 8.2 million people tuned in to watch the first episode, according to early BBC figures.

The BBC show, which stars David Tennant as the doctor, was also the debut of Freema Agyeman as his new assistant, trainee doctor Martha Jones.

It saw off competition from ITV 1's Harry Potter film, which attracted an average of 4.7 million viewers.

The series will see the doctor meeting Shakespeare and the Daleks

But I used to afraid of dummy's (like dummy's in shop that you put clothes on) My theory was that they came alive at night... so the first episode of the new docter who first series has exactly that so it was bit creepy for me...:pat:

I have just watched it and I have to tell you some terrible news.

All the Daleks have been exterminated except one.

That Dalek escaped, so I imagine that this Dalek will come back and the superior intelect of this Dalek will be able to make more Dalek's.

Dr Who has failed, even though he saved the day.

It's great stuff, even though it can be over the top an too unbelievable at times.

Doctor Who won 8 awards at the Bafta Cymru Awards.. YEY!

Dr Who sweeps Bafta Cymru board
The Doctor Who show has cleaned up at the Bafta Cymru Awards for the second year running, managing to win in eight of 13 nominations.
Actor David Tennant, who plays the Time Lord, won best actor, with lead writer Russell T Davies best screenwriter.

Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood won four gongs including best drama series and best actress for Eve Myles.

Both programmes are made by BBC Wales. Controller Menna Richards said she was "very proud indeed".

Doctor Who's success was even better than last year, when it won five awards.

Its accolades this year included: best lighting director - not camera; best editor; best original music soundtrack; best make-up; best costume, and best director: drama.

Sci-fi thriller Torchwood also picked up best director of photography: drama, and best design.

The programme's success rounded off a night which saw BBC Wales pick up 24 Bafta Cymru Awards - more than any other broadcaster - at the Cardiff International Arena on Saturday.

Documentary series Tribe won two prizes, with Iolo's Welsh Safari awarded two, including best on-screen presenter for Iolo Williams. Coast picked up the award for the best factual programme.

Other BBC Wales winners included Taro Naw in the best current affairs category, and the OB team for its live coverage of the Royal Opening of the Senedd.

Menna Richards added: "Congratulations to all of the winners.

"I'm very proud indeed of the success of all those who've made such wonderful programmes for BBC Wales.

"It's great to see BAFTA Cymru recognising the talents of all those who make programmes of the highest possible standards."

The BBC has announced that Series Three will take a one-week break on Saturday 12th May, meaning transmission of episode seven, 42, will now be on the 19th May.

The episode is being delayed because the BBC is committed to broadcasting the Eurovision Song Contest at 8pm that evening.

To fit Doctor Who into the schedule, it would require an earlier than usual start. Past evidence shows that the earlier the start time of the programme the lower the ratings, and it is thought the BBC wish to keep Doctor Who at 7pm in future to maximise the number watching.

Clom
08-05-2007, 10:39 PM
Figures show that episode six of Series Three, The Lazarus Experiment, was watched by 6.8 million viewers,
a 37.1% share of the UK television audience.

The programme was top of the UK ratings chart for the night, beating Casualty, which got 6.3 million.
On ITV1, Vernon Kay's Gameshow Marathon got 4 million viewers and Grease is the Word got 3.8 million.

The programme was again top of the Under 16's chart for the week with 1.5 million viewers, which was a massive 60.7% audience share. It's nearest rivals were EastEnders with 0.7m viewers and Ugly Betty with 0.6m.

i know what you mean Corkie it was quite depressing. that couple died. then that alien, then astrid (played by kylie), but it was quite sweet at the end when he sent her spirit into space and said "you're not falling anymore, you're flying..." lol it made me feel sad but happy lol. but the little snippet of series 4 looked really good! all round it was a good episode, its up quite high in my fave doctor who eps.
