A mother sent a £325 bill to another parent after her daughter came home from a playdate with scuff marks and pen on her designer 'Italian fur booties'.

Fashion designer Sarah Louise Bryan, 28, was furious when her three-year-old daughter Isabella, who only wears designer clothes, returned home with damaged shoes after an afternoon with a friend.

The mother, who ships in clothes from international boutiques for her daughter, was so angry that she emailed the child's mother, Nicola Gibbs, 33, demanding that she pay to replace the shoes by February 1.

Miss Bryan, from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, said her daughter, an aspiring child model, has around 60 pairs of shoes and only wears designer labels, but she carries changes with her everywhere she goes.

Leather shoes. It's already less than pristine.

Lets not insult her daughter because she is merely the victim of this sort of mothering.

Anyone who feels the need to boast about their child wearing haute couture needs to seriously look at their mental health. This woman has bizarre aspirational ideas and she’s using those ideas by proxy. She sees her child as part and parcel of her own career. Her child is merely an extension of herself and the fact that she mentions her child is a budding model shows that she’s looking for a return on her investment.

I don't think anyone did that

i don't know whether i'm more confused about the thought of someone spending £325 on shoes for a three year old, or then sending an invoice to their friend's mum when they inevitably end up messy

both are bizarre concepts

Sounds like a ridiculous story made to get this designer some promo in all honesty. I'd be surprised if any of this actually happened.

I feel sorry for the three year old, having a mother who is already using her as a fashion accessory.

What the chuff is a play date?
Does she mean her kid went to play with her friend?
Kids get dirty and scuff their shoes if they are allowed a proper childhood, it's called having fun, the mother needs to lighten up somewhat.

She needs to shave her breasts

That's exactly what I just thought!

If that's one of her designs she's wearing I'm surprised she can afford £325 shoes for her kid.

Her kid must have a f'king boring life.
'No you can't play outside you might get your Fine Italian Leather shoes dirty and look less than pristine'
'No colouring in' etc etc.
Sounds like she's using her kid like one of those tiny dogs that some women put in their handbag.Exactly as said above.A fashion accessory.
Put some jeans and addidas on the poor kid and let her have fun ffs.

One of the more annoying Americanisms.

Who mentions the fact that they are a designer in that context? This is just a case of an unknown designer trying to get some hate press.

Done on a smartphone?

Not only that but the font (Calibri) looks strangely condensed for that screenshot... There isn't a condensed Calibri so it seems like someones written it somewhere else, screenshotted that and put it in an email window.

Miss Bryan, who made headlines by making a dress from pubic hair

She no doubt thinks any criticism of her distasteful creations makes us a bunch of philostines. Rather a philostine than a vacuous, pretentious, untalented twit with bad taste. :joker:
