I get peoples opinions and all, but I'd much rather my child be doing what they love, whilst having fun and bringing some joy to this **** world of ours than causing **** on the street, getting girls pregnant at 16 and constantly using drugs.

I'm not a parent and I'm not planning on becoming one, but the only time I'd ever be ashamed of my child would be if they were violent or abusive towards others, they're still my child no matter what and even then I'd struggle to be ashamed of them?

I would imagine it's more likely that the accent from Ireland has had an influence on the American one in places where there were large pockets of Irish immigrants, rather than as the OP is implying that Jedward are mimicking a US accent. (Probably a little New York).

Personally I think the Irish accents from both North and South are pretty darn sexy!

Here for you rinsing your kids

I have actually heard that their mum basically keeps most of their money for them, and they've made several million each that they're not allowed to touch until they're older :joker:. Quite sensible really... as they (as much as I love them) HAVE already peaked in terms of earning but will always be set up for life. A lot of these young X Factor "temporary stars" think they've "made it" and will have high earnings forever... so they blow all of the money they earn in the first couple of years, then their career tanks, and they end up with no money or assets to show for it. ONE day (surely :umm2: ) Jedward will finally become adults, and they'll have a massive bank account waiting for them.

Unless Mamma Jedward is actually off on her private yacht as we speak

Yeah, all "American Accents" are basically a mash up of various European and a few other global accents, with different influences in different areas, and Irish plays a large role in the standard "Hollywood" (white American) accent. They draw out their vowels in the same way, etc.

[edit] Although... I've never heard an American actor pull off a convincing Irish accent... ever...

Their accent is a pretty typical "D4" accent, Noirins was similar, the "rougher" side of Dublin has a thicker accent like Jade and Marc had

It's quite common for Trust Funds not to be accessible until the Trustee is older, I've heard 30 is a common age for that sort of thing. I don't understand why having (what sounds like) responsible parents ensuring their children's fortunes last is a bad thing

The military comparison seems a bit silly and judgemental. When you are looking for reasons to hate on someone then perhaps it's time to consider why that is.

True, and they are immature for their age, but that's sort of the point. They would blow through that money. And it really isn't just because they are as childlike as they are - like I said, a lot of people who get famous in their teens have blown through their money (and lost the ability / popularity to make much more) by the time they hit their mid 20's.
