I like both of those but the image with the guns is great. I think I'll change back to it.

Anyway, What do you think to the Vic Makey Character. I bet I know what you're going to say.

Oh.. I love Vic. He's the original good 'badboy' isn't he. And, he's so damn sexy with it!

I was really disappointed in Shane though with the Lem thing. I know he thought he had no choice but damn, that's the team.. he's broken the fundamental rule, hasn't he. Vic is guna kill him for sure when he finds out, which he will!

And, what did u think I'd say about Mackey?

Do you think Chiklis is sexy. I wasn't expecting that.

I knew you'd like Mackey. He's got a filthy job to do but don't you think he goes over the top at times? The whole money train thing and when he went after the IA detectives wife. He's part hero part scumbag and it works.

If you like the shield then you'll like the Wire.

That's the thing Geoff. I don't think Chiklis is sexy. I think Mackey is sexy. It's not his physical appearance. It's his character. If that makes sense. Every girl loves a badboy

I don't think he went over the top with the IAD guy, cuz I think IAD went over the top to start with therefore what goes around etc....

The money train thing was just too big. It was guaranteed to come round and bite them on the ass. It's been really good for the storylines though to see them all cracking up under the pressure of the investigations. I wonder if the team will survive another season now though, or if the Shane/Lem thing will be the end of them. Then again, secrets have a habit of being kept for a long time in Farmington, so they might not find out it was Shane for a while.. (if at all).

GiRTh - I think Michael Chiklis is sexy. I saw him on an interview a couple of years ago, and ever since then, have thought he was hot!

This is another great, great show.

That makes perfect sense. Vic is the scumbag bent copper with a heart of gold. People who haven't seen the show won't know what the hell we're on about, but we understand his character implicitly. I knew you'd like him, it's in character.

I understand what you're saying. Forest Whitaker was so sleazy in the role of John Kavanagh. He just creeps you out whenever he's on screen. His wife was played by Lawerence Fishburne real life wife. The gorgeous Gina Torres.

They won't find out it's Shane until way into the season. I think Vic will flip when he finds out. His policy seem to be that only he gets to kill his own team members.

By the way, what do you think to the Shane character? Did you know they nearly got rid of him in the first season?

I never used to like Shane. But his character has developed well over the seasons. I always thought he was the weak link in the chain. He goes along with Vic rather than make his own mind up, and that's not a good thing. It shows weakness of character.

I was shocked when he killed Lem. I'm not sure what shocked me more. The fact that he killed one of his own, or the fact that he did something so big without checking with Vic first. Seems he needs "permission" all the time.

Trust you to pick up on that one bit. I mean that you're not as liberal as me and you'd like the Vic Mackey character. Thats's all:flowers:

I've always liked Shane and was flabbergasted to find out they almost got rid of him. He's a lovable redneck. I particularly liked the fourth series where Shane tried to be Mackey and failed spectacularly. It showed how a character like Mackey needs to be much cleverer than people might imagine.

I think the fourth series is probably my favourite series. As well as Shane trying to be Mackey you also has Glenn Close as Monica Rawlings. An inspired piece of casting. I wasn't expecting much when I heard that Glenn Close was coming into the Shield but her acting and her character blew me away.

On a pervy note I liked Aceveda going to that kinky prostitute. there was something very dirty about all of that.

Linda, which was your favourite season of the shield?

lily.
20-03-2007, 09:21 PM
The last one to be honest although the very first one was also good, cuz it was new and groundbreaking.

But, if I had to choose, then I'd say that Season 5 was my favourite so far. You never really knew where it was guna go, and you could see it all falling apart around them with IAD getting closer and closer to the truth and the paranoia showing amongst the team.

I'm really looking forward to Season 6 though. It's guna be even better I think.
