That being said he definitely is a celebrity though, probably globally the biggest one in there (Sorry James C). Everyone listened to him back in my middle school (I have some old music of his on my ipod) and then he remained relevant through TV shows and of course has famous family/relationships to put the icing on the cake (Kim, Whitney, Brandi, Snoop Dog etc)
