I think its a real shame that with all the bellends celebrities you have jedward get such hate. Ok I can see why they may annoy some people and i dont believe they are perfect but they are such nice inoffensive guys how angry and bitter do you have to be to hate them?
I really hope they win, dont care what people say they are lovely and i've been converted. #teah jedward.

Absolutely right.
Okay their zany antics may annoy some and their performances not appeal to many too.
However for those who have seen them live as I have, all I have seen is good and often hilarious entertainment from them.
When you meet them they are polite and they genuinely adore their fans Worldwide.
So the fact they work so hard and give their following the shows they like, the fact they have secured their financial futures with absolutely nothing of anything dubious or scandal like about them.
That leads me to avoid and dismiss the,in my opinion only, unfair criticism that comes from those just not liking them that has been there since XFactor days and unfortunately still keeps surfacing.
The lads rise above criticism and very admirably so too in my view.
Really well done to them for the career they have set up for themselves and long may it continue.

They are clever boys
They are far more clever than they get credit for.
In these last 5 years as Mitchell rightly points out they have amassed a wealth of millions each.
From hard work and being willing to take on anything.
Many past stars and current ones play the fool in entertainment and far past the ages John and Edward are too.
I still can see in time them getting presenting roles on TV and I think they would excel in that too.
Still in demand and internationally too, they have done much better in their profession than a great number of other former XFactor finalists, who very quickly all but disappeared after a much shorter time.

Wow ,Robbie Williams eat your heart out :bored:
Robbie Williams hasn't had a career since 2001.
He's resorted to filming his wife giving birth for twitter.

I agree. They do wind up people on purpose which is not bad tbh but they are harmless and kind.

I find them really likeable this time. They are positive and harmless and I'll be happy seeing them win it over the bitter and the nasty

I'm not a fan, and didn't think I'd ever respond to a post on Jedward, but I don't understand the hatred. As you and others have said, they are harmless. Yes, they appear quite immature for their age, but I'd prefer their type of innocent immaturity, than the immaturity shown by someone like Bear last year.
And, despite coming across as quite childlike for their age, they have had the good sense to find a niche and a 'persona' for themselves that allows them to make a very good living and future for themselves, without being so weak as to fall into pitfalls of celebrity, like drink and drugs. That makes them strong in my view, and wise too. They have clearly got their heads screwed on.
I would much prefer their presence in the house, rather than fake, self-centred, conceited and offensive celebrities, who choose to play a role and use showmances, overt sexual behaviour, cruel comments and car crash antics in a desperate attempt to get air time. We've seen that all before, and far too many times to make that entertaining. Therefore, it makes Jedward seem quite refreshing.
Good for Joey and all of those who are openly showing their support for Jedward; they don't deserve to be mocked or shamed for being fans. There are definitely worse celebrities to support.

The reactions on this thread just make me love them even more :joker:.
John did mention to someone on the first night they were in that he has had two girlfriends, by the way... Although, at 25 I'd be sort of concerned if neither of them had ever had a girlfriend.

They have a very pushy and manipulative mummy that controls the purse strings all the while helping herself to a large slice of their income. They are old news these days and if they are not thick, then they are bloody annoying delinquents. posing like little girls in the mirror, playing dressy uppie, screaming like banshees and acting like hyperactive numpties just isnt funny in my house, its bloody annoying

Why are you comparing them to those people though, they're two guys on a reality show  And what do you mean did "us" proud They're Irish not British :hee:
Isn't that why you support them - because they are Irish. I don't understand that really as when I watch these shows, especially talent shows, I don't support the locals, because they are locals, I support those I think are the best or most interesting.
Nice boys or not, and personally I think they can be pretty selfish with their noise and antics, I can see James' point. Just kids who have been lucky as they were in the right place at the right time with an Irish judge on the panel and as a mentor. Louis thought all his Christmas's had come at once with Irish twins - they couldn't lose.

We had a winner from my home town ( not my country) nothing on Gods earth would make me support her, one of the worst winners ever ,Ive seen her a few times in Tescos since, she's scruffy and a sour face cow, but won it because she was the girl next door

I think some people are just pressed that they've made more money in a few years having fun than most people do in an entire miserable life of boring hard work .
I say good for them! Some folks just need a semester at jelly school.

I always think it is so unfair when genuinely talented people miss out to pointless novelty acts. You can see the antics of Jedward in every junior school on the planet. Old and predictable in my opinion.

I don't support anyone just because they're Irish but I do like when someone who I like is Irish, sure, why not? I hated Marc for example eventhough he's Irish

Each to their own I guess - I just don't get it with Jedward. I always thought it nice when the kids were in bed and you could get some peace. When it's boys that age it just makes me cringe. Certainly wouldn't pay to see it.

Thank you for those supporting comments at the end of your post.
Also I massively commend your excellent, fair and balanced post.
I was watching over Christmas some big comedy stars of the past and while they were mostly hilarious at times, these were men in their late 40s and even 50s,some with totally nonsense jokes or a prop waving it about hysterically near shouting at the same time.
Jedward are 2 still young guys, who do an act those who like them and go to see them love to see.
Of course people do not have to like them but honestly some of the derision of those who do like them and the frantic clutching at straws levelled at the lads themselves mystifies me.
It doesn't bother me as I have liked them from XFactor,I've seen them live, met them and have their CDs happily in my vast collection of many artists, past and present.
Great post from you and thanks for the mention.
