I had it pre-ordered until this morning, I'm not going to bother with it now.

Stupid price and there's basically no games at launch beyond Zelda. I don't know why they are bothering to launch this early with such a weak lineup. They should have waited until at least Splatoon 2 was ready.

Yeah I Agree. The Mario game trailer didn't grab me, I don't like the Zelda shading. Mario Kart looks the same as it always does.

I'll definitely play some when it comes out, but won't be pre ordering.

The launch line up is a tad disappointing but then I missed out on the full first year of PS4 and didn't even go back to get any of the launch year games so I don't feel too bad.

Tbh at first I was disappointed but now I'm really excited.

The new Zelda game looks amazing, Super Mario Odyssey looks incredible (the humans threw me off at first, but this will just be one of the "worlds")
I also have interest in Skyrim, No more Heroes Switch, Fire Emblem Warriors, Beyond Good & Evil 2, Splatoon 2, and the new Square Enix RPG for Switch. Not to mention Pokemon Stars if that rumour is true.

For those of you without a Wii U, Mario Kart 8, Rayman LEgends and Lego City Undercover definitive editions will all be amazing. As for the new IPs 1,2 Switch looks horrendous (could surprise us though) but ARMS has me intrigued (we'll see)

That's ****ing dumb. Whoever makes these decisions need to be demoted to the production line and let the adults make the decisions. All they needed to do was to release their equivalent to PS+ and XB Gold.

Okay yeah I'm done with the switch at the moment - No way I am paying 450$ for the base model, a further 80$ for a game then over 100$ more for the proper equipment. WIll wait for the price drop if there is one

They just like to be awkward for the sake of it. Even back with the GameCube - which IMO was an amazing console - they just had to have their little pointless, and annoying, quirks. Like using the miniature discs instead of regular DVDs... WHY? Because they're small and cute? The console could have fit a regular DVD without being much bigger, and then there wouldn't have been the need for multiple discs for games that would EASILY have fit on one DVD :umm2:.

Tbf Although the launch is mediocre it seems like they have a steady stream of games planned which was the Wii U's problem.
i.e. Nintendo for 2017 alone has Zelda BOTW, 1,2-Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Arms, and Fire Emblem Warriors
As well as other games to look out for like Sonic Mania, Project Sonic, Super Bomberman R, Rime, Yooka-Laylee, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (<3), Skyrim, Lego City Undercover (Great game), Rayman Legends (Also great game) and more!

The price is my main concern right now, not the games as long as they can keep up the momentum all 2017 and into 2018

The controllers last for ages (like 20 hours apparently), can't comment on the console when it's undocked but people are saying between 3-6 hours depending on the game you're playing and so on

I picked it up here in Canada on launch.
It is an amazing console so far imo (I was having doubts going into it - I feel like I'm pretty unbiased as I did not buy Wii U until 3 years later on sale and was still not too impressed)

Zelda is amazing! It is definitely not your typical Zelda so don't get disappointed from less creative bosses, heart pieces etc. however the beautiful open world and side quests make up for it ten fold. I tested it and did not have issues with my left joy con, even when using motion control behind my back.

So my sister got her Switch through yesterday and BOTW is stunning in every sense, the Switch itself is a very nice piece of kit, but I can definitely see some flaws which will become more of an issue as time goes on (scratching when putting in it the dock, difficult getting joy-cons on and off). Once those are fixed, and there's a bit of a price drop, I'll be right on it (I've already bought Yooka Laylee for it so it's an inevitability right now)

I've heard some pretty bad things so far about the build quality so far, dead pixels, scratches on the screen on day one, the joycon connectivity issue (which apparently is cause the antenna inside it is positioned wrong?). Seems best to wait until later this year at least, when some of these hardware issues, hopefully, will have been fixed. The whole build quality seems really bad though, as if they farmed it out to the lowest bidder.

The Nintendo Switch is off to a big start, with sales for Nintendo’s new console beating out first two-day sales in the Americas for any system in Nintendo’s history, according to New York Times reporter Nick Wingfield, who had spoken with Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime. Wingfield noted that the Switch’s success is particularly impressive given that the console launched in March, rather than the more traditional holiday season.

It’s an early win for the Switch, especially since Nintendo’s previous record holder for two-day sales was the incredibly popular Wii. While its hard to compare without exact sales numbers, Nintendo announced at the time that the Wii sold over 600,000 units in the first eight days in the Americas, a figure the company would no doubt like to surpass. The Wii would go on to ship over 100 million units, and remains one of the most popular consoles ever shipped.


Additionally, Fils-Aime told Wingfield that the Switch version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the best-selling launch title (that wasn’t bundled, like Wii Sports) of any Nintendo console. It’s another impressive achievement considering the popularity of the Nintendo 64’s launch title, Super Mario 64, and the fact that Breath of the Wild is also available for the Wii U.

Nintendo has yet to reveal actual sales numbers for either the Switch or Zelda at this time. Still, it’s an unqualified good start for the Switch.

That’s according to Famitsu, which adds that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sold an estimated 190,060 copies in the country. That figure is retail only and does not include downloads.



These early figures are from March 3 to March 5, the Switch’s launch week and first three days on sale. (Expect Nintendo to release sales data of its own in the future.)

To put these hardware numbers into context, the Nintendo Wii U sold an estimated 308,570 units in its first two days on sale, with the Wii U’s launch week being from December 8 to December 9, 2012. The Wii, however, sold around 371,936 units in its first two days on sale back on December 2, 2006 during its debut launch week.

I would argue that there are way more than those three. Splatoon 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 stand out as heavy hitters. Also Fire Emblem Warriors, Skyrim Switch, Arms, Project Sonic etc with a rumoured Pokemon Stars which would be amazing if true. FIFA and NBA games will also help the system, as well as high profile Indie games like Yooka-Laylee, Rime, Steamworld Dig 2 and Runner.

Probably coming early 2018 also includes No More Heroes and a new Fire Emblem game. Tons of stuff still on the way.

Oh the first time I played BOTW in bed ( not docked) I don't think I docked it again for the rest of my playthrough. I don't really notice the 1080p vs 720p difference, as it is regardless the best graphics I have seen on a handheld.

And I own shovel knight and Zelda, debating on getting snipperclips, thumper, disgaea 5, or blaster master cause it's cheap. Also have ARMS and Splatoon 2 pre-ordered ( games for this month and next month)

I got the Neon. I love how seamless everything is, The transition between docked and non docked is seamless. It's amazing that a game can look so good on a small cartridge

That's the only game you REALLY need right now. There are some other good ones but I think BOTW is the only absolute must-have.

I'm thinking I may dive into Thumper next, although I usually prefer the physical cartridges

150cc and mirror are actually pretty easy (i've got the gold trophy for the first 4 cups) but 200cc is just mental :worry: the drift brake thing is really hard to get the hang of

I bought ARMS today, at first I thought it was a bit trash because I believed it was motion controls only and the motion controls are a mess but once I realised you could use the controller I really started to like it.

It's very addictive.

Still got Zelda to play but I wanna beat FFXII since I know one of the games will end up falling to the wayside and never be played if I try to play both of them.

Oh my god I forgot about this thread. Okay so mine finally arrived on Wednesday after waiting at least a month nearly, I've only got Mario Kart right now but I'm loving it. I really like the feel of the console, it's very comfortable. I plan on buying all of the joy con colours as I only have grey and I think they would be a nice addition to my collection and good for any ultiplayer. I'm looking forward to splatoon coming out but I played the demo and it's going to take some time getting used to because of the motion controls it uses (if that means when I have to tilt the controller or whatever to move the camera angle or what). I'm really debating on getting arms too after experiencing the joycons for the first time. It looks like a laugh and people say it's challenging but fun so I think I could probably get that. But so far so good and in fact I haven't had any issues which is what I was expecting

right so i’m about to start bayonetta and i wanted to play it in handheld mode bc i heard it didn’t look anywhere near as good docked

but like... the joycon buttons are sf tiny :s

is it just me? like do i have fat fingers or is everyone else in the same position

the pro controller is great but the joycons are sooo bad

It's the opposite for me, actually but only for this game strangely enough. I found the Pro controller to feel a bit laggy? while the Joycon controller felt a bit more responsive.

I think the joycons are fine, but I was using them for ages before I had a pro controller so I didn't have that to compare them to. The pro controller is much better but I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with the joycons, you probably just need to get used to them.

There's a Nintendo Direct happening at 10PM tomorrow, Mario Aces is going to be featured and they're going to be announcing some new games. One of which is likely to be a port of Diablo 3 judging by the reports. Pokemon may be announced too but I think that's more likely to be a E3 reveal.

nintendo exlusives annoy me bc they NEVER reduce the price

like unless i’m absolutely buzzing for a game i’ll never get it at launch i’ll wait a few months when it costs less than half the launch price

anyway my point is games like kirby i would pay like £20 for but not £40+ so yeah

Same, it's kind of port after port for the next few months. I'm excited for the eventual release of Bayo 3, Pokemon, Metroid Prime and Fire Emblem, but none of these are seeming to come anytime soon.
