View Full Version : Grease Is The Word

Dust off your leather pants and get your hair spray at the ready because Grease is coming!
Thousands have auditioned, but there can be only one Danny and Sandy treading the boards in the West End. From the good, the bad, and the ugly wannabes, to the two who will ultimately take the coveted roles, you guys will get to follow our hopefuls every step of the way.
But there's a harsh panel of critics just desperate to reveal a few home truths.
Renowned theatre producer David Ian is putting his reputation on the line by casting two unknowns in the lead roles. And he's going to have a little bit of help from his friends. I'm a Celebrity's very own David Gest will be imparting his pearls of wisdom, as will choreographer Brian Friedman and West End star Sinitta.
And overseeing the whole thing is Grease superfan, Zoe Ball.
"I remember seeing Grease for the first time when I was 7 years old and I loved it," Zoe confessed. "I learnt all the songs off by heart, and I just wanted to be one of the pink ladies at Rydell High, they were so cool!
"I've watched Grease over and over since that special day when I queued for ages outside the cinema, and I am just as hopelessly devoted to it now as I was back then."
Who will get to play the lead roles in one of the world's favourite musicals? We'll just have to wait and see.
One thing is for sure: we've got chills, and they're multiplying.

This show annoys me they moan about age being a factor and still allows any age to enter...whats the point. They should of had a cut off age of 25 or something IF they have no intentions of putting anyone older in. The older guy I thought was ok yet his age stopped him going through and there were loads more applying...just seems silly.

I watched the show and it was quite good!
It is exactly what you'd expect. Silly auditions and some great "Sandy" & "Danny" auditionees.
But they have to get the right "Look", "Voice", "Acting", "Dance" & "Age" of course.
It will be nice, when they have the short-list and we are left with some real talent.
But for now, it is like the X-Factor, time to laugh :laugh:

Yeah I agree very much like x factor but maybe too much trying to be like it if that makes sense. Not really liked any of them who got through nobody has the look/voice and talent for me...

It is exactly like the reality show:-
(How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?)
If you enjoyed that, then this is the show for you.
and I watched, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? and loved it too.
No, I am not sad :hello:

Oh Dear 'Grease is the Word' is losing viewers left, right and centre.
Last night's show had a mere 3.5m viewers, and was beaten by a repeat of 'Allo Allo' on BBC2.
Maybe one day ITV will start to come up with original programming instead of copying other channels.
Week 1.. 4.5m
Week 2.. 4.3m
Week 3.. 4.1m

Im not really sure i didnt think they would have gone i thought that maybe bradley and michelle might have but I know what they are saying about Bradley being a good actor and having the right package not just singing or dancing. i think they might go this week though. im gonna put my neck out an say Danny B and susan and the other Danny and lauren for final but i want Danny B/Susan and Anthony/Alison in final
GlitterEyes
14-05-2007, 04:02 PM
I liked Alison & Anthony right up until she did that "shocked" look when she was told she wasn't the best singer in the competition lol. I thought Hayley was good and would go far but she wasn't exactly petite which I think strongly went against her sadly. I would like to see the young couple go quite far because they both have that innocence to them naturally as they are the youngest there and they seem well liked. I don't really like Susan but she does look the part. The rest of them I cannot warm to at all.
BigSister
14-05-2007, 04:20 PM
who is the young couple because i only started really watching it on saturday
Chrizzle
14-05-2007, 05:54 PM
I think its all a bit tacky, but it is actually growing on me.
Only cos I really miss X Factor.
I think Anthony and Alison are the best.
I dont get Danny and Lauren. His speech thing will mean he wont be able to act. Pointless!

I heared Brian McFadden's sister is in it. Well I hope she wins and becomes more successful than her idiot brother.
GlitterEyes
20-05-2007, 11:23 PM
I think the fact she is his brother is going against her...lol. I think Ant and Alison make the perfect Danny & Sandy...and hope to see Susan and Danny B make the final 4.
BigSister
20-05-2007, 11:38 PM
Yeah i agree with those 4 i hope they are the 2 left. although I think Michael could give ant a run for his money..

I think Danny B and Alison...she looks more of the part than Susan and I think she comes across alot better. If Susan wants to win I think she needs to show more personality and flirt and get in character...she is "nice" but nice can be quite dull.

On last night's show, Vicky & Alison were kicked off and the week before Danny R and Michael were also kicked off, this mean in the final four next week are Danny B, Anthony, Susan & Michelle! Rooting for Danny B and Susan to win :)

Danny B and susan - Great prediction Andybigbro!
Mind you it wasn't that hard and thankfully the British public used their brains and not their hearts and picked people who we would want to see long term. (If they stay??)
I hope I get the chance to see them.:spin2:
