Why does it matter? Pop stars have always put forward a public image that might not be 100% realistic to their every day look to appeal to a fanbase. Would you have been calling for The Beatles to show the public pictures of their flabby arses? Let's be really honest about what's happening here, it's because she's a young woman and young women are expected to look a certain way in the music industry and some people get a kick out of fat shaming them. (And it could also just as easily be argued that the Daily Mail are carefully editing/choosing pics in order to appeal to those people - because of "buy my paper" - so I think there's some hypocrisy in all of this too.)
