I hope All-Stars is next season. The side show being cancelled has made me a bit suspect though, but it probably is purely due to budget cuts.

I really, really like the international twist. I've never been captivated by feeds of any season of any franchise, but I was obsessed with them last year. Mostly because of Nikki and Tim and how they reacted to a game they know nothing about and is completely different to the one they know.

I'm suspicious too, but the reputable account did mention internationals in passing, and the fact she's following all of those people is a huge red flag to me. What would be good to see from BB Canada is an actual format twist. They've been good at throwing in the random twists during the series but haven't actually deviated from the core US format they've inherited - indeed BBUSA has moved away from that more since BB Can started. They seemed to scale back the viewer involvement in anything significant last year after the Wildcard vote so a weekly Canada's Nominee seems unlikely (though that would be a lazy twist), but would be good to see them introduce a new element in the weekly format of the show.

They could have played with randomness a lot more last year with the High Roller Room but kind of let it go to waste but with a format where it's often quite clear how the week might pan out within minutes of the HoH winning having something which regularly might have unexpected consequences would be great for viewers.

I know it's an unpopular opinion but besides the ending I think BB7 is as near to perfection you can get on an All Stars series, but then I have a penchant for returnee seasons of reality shows in general so I'm slightly biased :hehe:

I have a source who works in production who has confirmed that the season will be an all-stars season and that there will be no international houseguests, despite the rumours. The rumours that the sideshow has been cancelled are true. The cast (which has yet to be finalized) is down to around 20 past contestants and given that two of them will be probably used as a backup, it means that 2 more will be cut once we get closer to the premiere date. There will be likely 4 returnees from each season unless there is an extenuating circumstance.

The list of returnees will be as follows

* Peter Brown (Part of the reason sideshow was cancelled)
* Emmett Blois
* Liza Stinton
* Talla Rejaei
* Adel Elseri
* Kenny Brain
* Neda Kalantar
* Rachelle Diamond
* Ika Wong (Alternate)
* Godfrey Mangwiza
* Kevin Martin
* Jordan Parhar (Alternate)
* Ashley Wood
* Sarah Hanlon
* Willow Macdonald (Alternate)
* Phil Paquette (Nick will not be on)
* Mitch Moffit
* Jared Kesler (Alternate)
* Cassandra Shahinfar
* Loveita Adams

Neda, Sarah, Godfrey and Mitch are who casting wants to select but they are still considering the offer. Their alternates are Ika, Willow, Jordan and Jared respectively.

Casting calls for this season had a much more limited budget due to the impending all-stars season but a few were given phone calls and shortlisted for season 6 although it has not been renewed yet. They are in a position with the network that they are confident that it will be renewed though, especially since an all-stars season will increase ratings.

Two contestants will get the chance to become two time winners of Big Brother Canada, those being Sarah Hanlon and Phil Paquette (or our first 1.5 time winner).

I will update you guys when they finalize the cast and reduce the final 20 down to the final 18 (two backups will remain until the very beginning of the season, one male and one female).

This is likely humongous BS but I'm posting it cause we didn't get the premiere date after all today (:fist:)

An All Stars season without Tim and Nikki should already not be happening, but that list would actually be pretty uninspiring, so if that's the cast they'll assemble I'd rather it wait :umm2:

IDK, I'm holding out hope that this isn't true because LIZA being chosen over Suzette and Jillian and Topaz (who really isn't much outside of her finale **** up but still) is literally illogical, as is ****ing Willow being an alternate among a bunch of other things everyone else pointed out. But if this is true... yikes. IDK, I know everyone here gushes over BBCan but it really took a huge drop in quality after they switched from Slice to Global and the last two seasons have just been not as atrocious BBUS seasons. Yes I agree. that's why Tim was a better choice than Jace because Jace has more experience with this format, Tim has only some because you are allowed to nominate strategically on BBAU but Nikki had none at all. it was tv gold, two people from a public vote format to a non-voting public was a great idea.
