Admittedly we only see an hour a day but I am just not getting the housemates criticism of them. It's like they are the house scapegoats. It began with James Jordan and it's like all the others in Nicola's gang just follow along and say the same thing, even James C who is fast falling from Lord Commander to prize Pratt IMO. They eat too much. Doesn't he remember having a high energy young man in the household, he does have a son.
I was surprised Calum doesn't have a few more balls to think for himself. He nominates them every time with the same tired comment and yet he can't take it when someone does anything but fawn over him. What a loser he was for laughing at Jamie's 10 comment about Jessica and for his rudeness to her for talking with Nicola. She should have told him she talks to who she likes and he isn't her editor.
Jedward were nice to cray cray Stacy when no one liked her. Look at how she acts toward them now. Only the 3 newest ladies have said how nice they are and how kind to the newcomers. For me that's the one grain of truth.
For me one of the stand out things about Jedward is they don't seem to bring any malice

Angie Best also said they were lovely. Did you see calum go over to them and apologise for nominating them too afterwards. they're just closing ranks to try and save themselves

I thought that (about the food) too when James C mentioned it. Boys from mid-teens to mid-20's are still developing and simply NEED more food than average. I mean he even pointed out himself that they're pretty skinny... which is proof that they're NOT over-eating, they are burning the calories that they're consuming, so they are genuinely hungry! If anything they look like they could do with a bit MORE protein...
The portion sizes I used to have in my teens and early 20's were obscene :joker:.
I feel like the moment people really "started" on them was when Jamie flipped at them. It's like it made them "fair game" to be, as you said, scapegoats for everyone else's complaints and frustrations.
They ARE a bit defensive and take criticism hard but that's really the worst that can be said of them, and I think the problem there is really that they take so much unwarranted flak that they find it hard to know when people have a genuine criticism that they should maybe take on board, vs when people are just taking out their own issues on them.

Angie likes them, Kim has said they're lovely, even Chloe was defending them on BOTS (saying that Nicola speaks over them and won't let them talk)... they were the only ones sitting with James C offering perspective when Spencer was having a rant about him, and they've done the same for others when things have been kicking off. Definitely under-appreciated in my opinion.

Yeah they seem quite empathetic, especially since they adore Speidi and haven't been close to james C at all. They are not sheep and wouldn't gang up on anyone just to get in with the in crowd

Re the food my son's dinner plate is fondly called the bucket and he's not at all overweight.
My problem with the whole defensive/criticism is that they are all defensive and can't take criticism. This has caused Stacy to turn into a cross between the ring and Nicole's minder. Sent Colleen into a week long meltdown over one tweet. It sent Nicole into a rage at Kim. It made Jamie fall out with James J. All Jedward have done is tried to say something back when criticism is being heaped on them by everyone. I'd call that standing up for themselves but we don't really know what they want to say as they are never allowed to finish speaking.

Exactly again jaxie, most of them get defensive at any negative comment about them
People are very often defensive,in the house that must surface even more strongly.
I don't get where being defensive is such a bad thing.
If people are running you down and belittling how you are, when did the right to speak out against that get removed.
That is really all Jedward do, nothing wrong in challenging what they see as wrong being said about them.

It would take an incredibly bitter person to hate them really.
It's rather disgusting how they've been treated in that house, they are the scapegoats for everything.

I think if Nicola wasn't there people wouldn't be as awful to them. Kim is so right about Mother Bunny, Stacy even asked her permission to speak to Speidi fgs yet Nicola was all hugs and arse licking when Speidi allowed her back in..........didn't even speak up for her friend jamesC when they were calling him names yet she expected all of them not to speak to Speidi when they were being mean to her.
Jamie and Callum seem to actually like Jedward in secret but when Nicola is around they're not allowed

It is but I'm not seeing a lot of outrage about it on social media. That's quite surprising.

They must provide entertainment and laughter for some people and that's okay. They must also get on people's nerves and that is also okay.

:wavey:One of the reasons they have redeeming qualities in my opinion. They dance to their own tune. Quite literally too. They can admire, attempt to counsel, bitch amongst themselves and at times others and also wind up others for laughs. There's nothing guarded or cliquey about them apart from the two of them. They seem to be just going with the flow and are sometimes defensive. But compared to others, annoying but likeable lads.
