View Full Version : Jedward More talented and hard work than some of their critics in the house

You don't have to like Jedward or find what they do interesting.....we can still acknowledge their talent....personally I don't like their music, though I did think Lipstick was a pretty awesome track, but its no better or worse than most stuff in the charts now.
They may not sing like George Michael or dance like Michael Jackson but they try their best and they believe in the characters they've created 100%.....
They write their own lyrics and they choreograph their own moves and they are committed 24 hours a day to their performance....I respect that work ethic and dedication....

So I fully understand them getting annoyed when they are dismissed as nobodies by Nicola and Callum and Bianca, none of whom have any talent or have ever worked hard for anything they've achieved.

Like it or not but its true that Jedward share something in common with James, Colleen, Jamie, Kim etc....they've worked hard to get where they are and they've got there by being creative and very skilled in what they do.

Callum, Nicola and Bianca have no talent, create nothing, only famous because of who they are related to and rely completely on a sexualised image to stay in the limelight. If Bianca wasn't wrapping her legs around some bloke she would be gone now...if Callum wasn't a magnet to stupid tarts with no brains he too would be gone now.

If I was Jedward I would completely defend myself too.

People can drag them all they want (and I admit their music isn't really my thing) but they've at least made something for themselves which is more than Calum ever did. The guy who's whole "career" has been milking his surname for his whole life preaching about how 25 year old men should conduct themselves is hysterical.

At best Jedward are a joke act, their career has gone, held by a thread by a pushy Mother who keeps finding them jobs at Pontins up and down the land, to fund her retirement ,and along in an afternoon to "Sleepy meadows nursing home " the only audience there are old ladies, who through no fault of their own cannot escape the dining room concert area ......and PLEASE ,PLEASE for the love of God bring up Eurovision ....... they came SEVENTH behind Azerbijan

I think what you are all forgetting is they are on a reality tv show - and if people are tunning in to watch some reality tv - (what ever you class that as) should they have to watch endless routines of self promoting deadwood ? could channel 5 not have a side channel promoting them 24 -7 with all info on about them available on the internet where people and fans can watch them until they can not take any more ?

should we keep big brother for what it is about - a social experiment of people living in a house together to see how they interact ?

True

They have sold a good amount of music around the world. They created a unique image and it sold fairly well. They are genuine celebrities with a skill. Same with Kim.

Nicola on the other hand became famous for being a Page 3 girl. That requires no talent. It's just take your clothes off for money.

They have also been on the X Factor and NOw CBB

sure, they are failures

They are entertainers who created an image that works fairly well. It's much better than what Nicola does. Being a Page 3 girl requires no talent whatsoever.

I agree with the OP. Just been saying as much in an email to a friend...

"I kind of want Jedward to win now. Especially after Saturdays highlights. I've thought it for some time while they've been in the house, but no one really sees Jedward as anything but a joke. And that's got to hurt being constantly put down all the time and I think that's all John (think it was him) was doing last night. He was just saying, we are people too. But no-one sees that, they think they can just call them immature and it won't affect them. Well, it does. I actually thought he was going to start crying when he was trying to make he point. They are people with feelings too, but no-one gives them a chance.

OK, I know they make fairly liquid slides in the kitchen, which doesn't help. But they have also spoken so very good truths to some of the prima-donnas in there.

So one of the inbreds raised his voice (Lasting 1-2 minutes MAX ) and this is enough to win a tv show on ? Really are you serious ?

Not everyone has their charisma, there is a reason they were put through to the live shows, because they have it. They have the ability to make people talk, laugh and smile, which is why they got votes, and why they have had a successful career.

Dappy was a successful pop star I'd say, he'd had a #1 within the past year or so - Mutya was still very current and popular when she went in also - There are countless examples of sucessful popstars entering the Big Brother House

Considering they're renowned for not being the best singers, having a single reach #2 is amazing. Their career here hasn't flopped, its just changed - they became regular TV personalities on shows like Celebrity Juice. Singing isn't the only aspect of their career.

He'd had a #1 at the end of 2011 and then was entering the Celebrity Big Brother house at the very start of 2013, hardly a long time in terms of pop careers where people takes years to create album.

Like I said Mutya had quite a few hits from her album, including 'Real Girl' and entered the house just under 2 years after also.

but he wasn't actually that successful, he wasn't a big name or that famous. he went on CBB to save his 'career' because the newpapers made out he is some vile person (they didn't lie) that's why he acted nice and fake but it didn't work, his career is still a flop.

Well they have a big fan base in Germany, Sweden and Korea as well as a massive one in Ireland....but the subject wasn't about how much talent they have but rather how little some of their critics have by comparison...I don't consider reaching number two in the UK Singles charts a flop but in comparison what position in the music charts, or the book charts or the Eurovision Song Contest has Callum, Bianca or Nicola ever achieved ?
Jedward are so correct to say that these people are in no position to take the moral high ground and judge others by their talent or success when they have none.

I would certainly feel content earning millions of pounds doing a job I love....I get the impression they are happy and love what they do....I don't get that vibe from Callum or from Nicola....and I measure success by the amount of joy you experience in what ever you do....
